What doesn't the Axe Fx do effect wise

As has already been said: mimiq and freqout are probably the most obvious. On a more esoteric front, the only pedal I keep in my chain is a Dwarfcraft Great Destroyer, and there may be some way to combine assorted things to approximate that, but, if there is, it's beyond me.

Exactly. And I'm here for enjoying nostalgic things, but I think that, if a person values art, remaining aware of that nostalgia and engaging with things that don't tickle that nostalgia spot is very important. Like... I love Star Wars, but I'm not going to avoid other scifi movies that are...

For a lot of players you'd be correct, but you have to keep in mind his context, which is playing out on a massive stadium stage with nothing but an expression pedal within reach. Axe-Fx III Firmware 22.00 Public Beta #2 (Beta 7)

It's cool that you think you don't experience that. You're a rarity if that's the case. The whole thing about perceiving a thing in a certain way is that that perception makes it so the person doesn't realize their perception isn't objective.
  26. B

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 22.00 Public Beta #2 (Beta 7)

I didn't say they're louder. I'm talking about perceived volume due to more high end, which is likely going to be something a person experiences after direct volume matching/leveling.

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 22.00 Public Beta #2 (Beta 7)

I'm going to go out on a limb and bet that a lot of it has to do with there being more high end energy and perceived volume increase with the Dynacab. Fixing a backward latching switch

Except it's backward. My question was whether there's a global way to correct for that. It seems pretty clear that there's not.
  35. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

Ok... but is there a way to invert the on when not pressed>off when pressed behavior?
  36. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

The setting for the PEDAL is latching. If I hold it it stays OFF. If I let it go it turns ON. WIthout pressing the pedal it's at 100, if I press it it goes down to 0. If I switch it to momentary it starts at 0, if I press it it goes up to 100 and stays there until I press it again.
  37. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

Does that account for why it functions as a latching switch when set to momentary?
  38. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

  39. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

But there's no way to globally do so for things in the pedal inputs, correct? So, we're back at there's no other solution?
  40. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

Totally, but it's functioning as a momentary switch when set to latching.
  41. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

And, actually, it occurs to me that this pedal is plugged into a pedal input, not a external switch input, so the behavior and polarity settings aren't even for it. So, there's even fewer things to try.
  42. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

It's set to follow hardware, because I do want it to work like a momentary. It works like a momentary (even though it does so when set to latching), that's not the problem, the problem is that on that modifier graph its default state is to the right, no matter which polarity I set it to, which...

  45. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

Yep. That's the functionality I'm getting with this switch, except with its on off nature reversed when in latching. It's on all the time unless I press it, unless I switch the slope. I think it might technically be marketed as a sustain pedal, if that indicates anything.
  46. B

I have been trying to set it in the fc controllers menu (it's connected to my FC-6).
  47. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

So, I was attempting to not confuse things by just going with what the AFX treats a latching switch like (at least this one I have), but I was pretty sure that it was actually mixing up latching and momentary too. I have the switch set to latching (looking at it right now in the menu to...
  48. B

    Fixing a backward latching switch

Is there a way to reverse a latching switch that the AFX sees as On>Off to Off>On other than changing the slope in the modifier window each time I set it up? 58. B

Right? That's my take too. With the abundant variations of certain barely distinguishable from each other amps I just don't understand the blowback to the idea of making the banquet even more complete.

I don't know that I've ever seen a wish post or comment that hasn't included at least 1 "Why would you think you need that when you can just spend 27 hours fumbling through deep settings with amp X to get results that may or may not be close to what you're asking for" response.

Help to get the "right" IR

Rectifier ✅ , now let’s talk about the noise gate

As someone else pointed out, sidechaining it to the input means that it's not doing that. It's suppressing the noise post amp based on the noise at the input. That part is pretty normal and what a lot of the current swanky noise gate pedals are designed to do. All I specifically add to the...

Rectifier ✅ , now let’s talk about the noise gate

What ended up working for me, as far as noise gates go was to use the "sidechained to input 1 between the amp & cab blocks" approach AND also setting the input block gate type to Noise Reducer, with -7dB threshold, 2.00 ratio, 1.00ms attack, & 100.00ms release. Is there any advantage to using SPDIF between my Axe III and my Mixer/Digital Soundcard?

It does though. In order to use the USB input you need to use the AFX as your interface. In order to do that, you need to output directly from the AFX to your monitors. If you're outputting from the AFX to your monitors then you're not going to get any audio if the AFX is off. On pc you can't...

There's not on pc though. I can either use my AFX and only my AFX as my audio interface if it's connected via usb or I can use My Audient if the AFX is connected through xlr or spdif. At least based on the searching around for a simpler solution that I've done.

Even if it wasn't, a process such as compression can definitely be destructive/not lossless in the digital realm. Probably a weird analogy but think of this like: you have 6 apples.
