Ares FW update. Honestly can't tell any actual difference.

After reading the suggestion to do the soft reset I went down yesterday and spent a bit of time listening to my presets and then doing the soft reset. I did notice some difference. I then tweaked the pres and had to set the volumes a bit to keep them all similar. Noticed it sounded better...

I remembered a XLR cable with an on/off switch on it. I went down and hooked it up on the Axe and it works at least for me. I’m able to reach around and turn the switch and it goes silent and when I powered down no pop. Easy and free. Is there anything wrong with doing this?

To me my plexi and bass man presets sounds great. I’m still dialing in my vox and matchless pres. But having a great Fender and Marshall pres cover most anything so I think I’m good. If I ever get the vox thing that will only be icing on the cake.

The trim was what I was wondering about. I hoped there was some easy way to correlate 1 on a single coil to ? for a HB. I assumed 1 would be lower gain but it seems like mid gain possibly? It just seems odd to me to go under 1.

What expression pedal is best for Fx8?

I have a Boss FV 500 L. The L means nothing in this aplication, I use the Exp jack with a tip, ring, sleeve balanced 1/4" cable. Works perfect with the FX8 8 and the AxeFx.

FX8 into a clean platform like a Fender amp

I'm using my FX8 into an Egnater Tweaker 15, the TS808 and TS808 Mod are covering what I need right now. I also know there are other ods in there if I get tired of the tones. I don't have to buy a new pedal all I have to do is turn a few knobs.

Volume and (Tone) loss

Try using the cables only hooked to something that will pass the true bypass signal. I had an issue with cables when I tried 4C with my old floor board. Everything sounded good till I turned on the loop then my tone and volume went down (tone suck).

Just installed 1.06 and my axe now only passes the guitar with no effects. I tried installing the latest BOT and reinstalling, no good. I tried to reinstall 1.05 and it acts the same. HELP!

Clipping in a preset?

I'm trying to dial in a DC-30 preset and it seems to sound clipped within the preset, not pleasant. Reminds me of a mic being overdriven at a board. Anyway, I did the VU meter in the global and have it running at +2-3 db or so but it still sounds like something is clipping. Can you help?

I haven't purchased one yet but I have from good source Radial makes one of the best direct boxes out there. They have pads at several db settings. The one recommended to me was the JDI.

I don't honestly have a clue but I'd think there isn't too much processing power used to accomplish turning on or off a relay. Here's my thought, why can't the function be piggybacked onto another block that doesn't necessarily take a ton of CPU it's self? Or added to the scene? It's just that...

I bought the FX8 to use with a Mesa MK V25. It has a single tip ring sleeve jack in the front to switch channels and eq on/off. Would I be better off using it or should I use the two seperate switch jacks on the back of the amp. In particular my question is can the relay on the FX8 be configured...

Direct box?

For my application I'd like a "good" quality direct box with a pad to lower to output of the AXE to better suit the input of the board. Can anyone recommend one?
