The MFC will still operate very nicely as a standard midi foot controller. I use one to operate a JP2C, an eventide H9, Strymon Timeline, and RJM mini effects gizmo. Use it to control presets as well is IA functions for each pedal. Sure I have to name my own presets and program everything...

Love for the USA Lead +

I just wanted to show love for the Mark IV model in the axe. I’ve been a 2C+ Bri/deep or 2c++ user as my main high gain for ages and never cared for the IV. Not sure how many firmwares ago I last tried it but today I made a preset with it that honestly sounded better then I ever got with the 2c...

Anyone go from XL to AX8 ?

I personally couldn’t go ax8. For one I play Music Man Petrucci’s so I need 2 inputs for the magnetic and piezo, two I like 2 amps per preset so that I can switch between clean and dirty seamlessly, 3 I like to set my preset up like a pedal board with almost every fx I like available by IA...

    Controlling the lo end

The definition control on the amp block is useful, adjusting it tightens the lows and increases the upper mids for more attack. Also setting the geq in the amp block to “pre power amp” and lowering the lows there will help a lot.

What External Pedals Are You Using With your Axe-Fx?

I use a jp95 in front. The wahs I’m the axe are great but that one is very unique and aggressive, can’t match it without an eq block which I can’t spare the cpu for and also it’s not perfect.

I’ve noticed that too and I think it’s the speaker comp. compressors alway do weird things with noise gates and I also hear the noise while playing until the gate clamps it. One way to make it happen for everyone to see what I mean is to hit a palm mute on the low string and let it fade out...

    Stereo Drive Block?

I think the reason a stereo drive block won't happen is because it doesn't effect users as a whole. 99.999999999999999% of people put the drive before the amp as that is where it sounds good.
  54. ThelmoRego

    Different effects in one block/PC

Scenes is one of the best features on the Axe, definitely learn as much as you can about it. By the way, scenes will solve your issue, you set one scene to us the pitch block X and one to use pitch block Y and now you have 2 harmonies available at any time.
  55. ThelmoRego

Why is the Matrix GT1000 needed?

The matrix is used to take your axe fx and make it louder, some people use it with non powered speakers, some use it into a real guitar cab, and some don't use it at all because they have self powered speakers such as the atomic clr etc. either way, something needs to amplify your signal.

    Some advice needed please (lengthy!)

I make the axe fx sound good thru a 4 x 12 all the time, the key is to tweak your patch at the volume you'll be using it, as volume goes up you my find the lows and highs sometimes get too drastic. Delay causing mud in stereo ?

For a guitar doubling effect, 25ms is a lot, most people use around 7 ms. Also the enhancer block in the axe is awesome so you might want to think about going that route.
  60. ThelmoRego

Axe + FRFR users, how are you getting feedback?

If you have an available drive block, I would set that with some ridiculous gain levels and use it only to get feedback when you want it, you can also use the EQ control of the drive block to limit the high frequencies to whatever you would like.

Difference in using scenes - vs - mfc for effects .... i.e. Drive Button

The changes you make in axe edit will not reflect on the MFC. You are not supposed to use them simultaneously. The MFC has to be refreshed to see what changes was made in axe edit.
