using a PEQ instead of a cab

So let me give you a little background, I use my axe 3 with w Freidman FRFR for live work.... my tones always sound good when I'm alone but when playing with a live drummer and Bass they always sounded like a blanket was on the tone.. So i'd use a PEQ to cut below 80 and high cut to 5k to get it...

Just wanted to pass this along-- i have tried ( like so many others) to run in the effects loop of my amp without cab simulation and like other found it to be somewhat weak--- but after watching Cooper Carters video... and I'm sure it says this in the manual somewhere,, i learned that the output...

Help my MFC won't connect!

So the issue is all of a sudden the MFC won't power up with fast link... I can power it up with the 9v but it won't "Connect" using the fast link connection.. I have fast link selected in the I/O menu and have tried different mic cables... any suggestions?? usually i just use the Fasylink cable...

I was dialing in using monitors but always sounded like a blanket over my tone when at the gig....so I finally ditched the monitors and started using pa speakers....I have 2 yamaha dxr10....so I could hear exactly how it will sound at the gig at gig level.....feel your frustration.....but since...

I know this is silly but are you in front of your computer?? I was chasing noise for a while till it dawned on me the monitor was creating noise cause I was too close to it...radiating from the pups.....sounds stupid but baffled me for a bit...lol

great choice.. having been an axe user for 4 years and using FRFR agree to pick one you like and eq it for your needs.. that dam rabbit hole is not only deep... it changes with ear fatigue and especially with volume. any volume change will affect the the overall sound for sure... find one you...

gain control on amps

just an observation, and maybe a revelation, Ive had the AXE 2 for two years, recently got the 8....pretty familiar with it...i always use axe edit to dial in my amps, play through 2 QSC K 12s.....today i was messing with the Britt 800 and was using the 8 to dial in a kick ass angus young raw...

Grid routing/blocks/use of FX loop question

You don't need to do anything really if your using the feedback send except plug something into output 2 and make sure it's set correctly in I/O....copy output 1...you have the two knob on front for the levels of each

Whew ..tough crowd. Just seems like more and more of these guys are popping up doing videos. Seems like what they teach is really limited to what their playing through. Ie. PA speaker or real cab. It's all good... just noticed a lot of guys hocking videos...used to be Yek and Freman shared...

18.06 is awesome and as I read scott Peterson post I realized I needed to go back and revisit the factory presets..so last night I did and was stuck on the plexi one for an hour just really digging it....I've had my axe a year and a half and my template preset only has a flanger chorus two...

Like they always say...use your ears....if there was no sound then that's easy to determine.justbcause I set my Mesa gain on 6 doesn't mean I set my axe gain on 6. i actually thought it was more of a tongue in cheek comment...not a belittleing.

Tricks on getting punch and sustain live without going overboard on the gain?

I was struggling with this for a year... I use a QSC k 12 on stage behind me and use it like a cab...I finally found the magic secret so it sounds like a cab being pushed with all the sustain and feedback I want. I use the guitar hack cab THISONE UR. Set the low cut to 125 and most importantly...

? power amp low/high cut stock settings.....

I usually turn on the low cut in the amp block and roll off the highs to 6000 in the cab block. Playing through a QSC k12 with the deep switch off.... Still have a ton of low end and sizzle..

that's awesome...yes louder is better.. do you have your deep switch on? do you engage the low cut on the amp block? the QSC has a ton of bass.
