    Gibson es-339 question?

I have played both a 335 and 339 (Gibson). I still have the 339 (it's the one in my picture by the 1940's vintage Gibson amp). In my experience (take it for what it's worth), the 335 sounded better (more volume and clearer) below about the 8th fret (more or less). The 339 sounded better above...

Any idea the value of this pot?

The numbers may be a date code. Do you have access to a ohm meter (for instance a digital multi meter)? If so, measure between the posts on the ends (the middle post is connected to the variable part). Make sure that you aren't touching the probes with your fingers as that can throw off the...

Yeah, I ended up bribing the squirrels to stay away. I give them food in a different location. A few still come to the bird feeders but as they are outside my study window and I am working at home until who knows when, they are easy to drive off. A little distracting during Zoom meetings...

    Missing Two Presets

Sorry if I am still not getting it. If I open up Axe Manage Presets (on Axe Edit) and select FC Banks, all it seems to do is give me a different view. The files are still not there. So where do I get the copy of the missing preset (without reloading the whole bank)? Thanks

I also have blank screens on my FC-12 (for me, just like the beta release earlier today). So I too will revert to the earlier version (11p2_beta1). Also, as a note, Axe Edit shows that something needs to be saved on every preset I go to. Thanks for the hard work and I look forward to trying it...

Why is the Matrix GT1000 needed?

The amount of audio power that the Axe FX puts out is just a bit more than what would power a headset. If you want to hear it out loud, or have enough power to fill a big room, you need some sort of power amp. That can be something like the Atomic CLR, which (in some versions) has a amp in with...

If it is not too late, before doing a master reset and having to reenter your settings, try changing the bank size to something else. Then set it back to where you want it. For instance, change the bank from 5 to 6. Then you can set it back to 5 (or whatever size you want). It fixed mine.

6CA7 is the American markings for a EL34. Just like we don't have ECC83s here, we have the 12AX7. There are a lot of people who will argue about which one sounds better but what they are hearing, most likely, is the difference from one brand to another.

Yeah, my bad. The FX-II is 14.24 deep, not the Ultra.
  86. Greg H

Rack case for axe ultra and power amp

From the Axe FX Owners manual. Dimensions: 19” × 3.5” × 14.25” (483 × 88 × 362 mm) So if this is right, you need a bit more then 14" depth just for the unit. A bit more should be allowed for the connectors. If the manual is not correct, please let me know.
