Found a pretty nasty bug with this preset. There is currently a single cab slot solo'd in Cab 1 but unsoloing it causes the Axe-FX to lock up completely, requiring a power cycle.

FRFR speaker recommendation?

I tried the Yamaha and EV side by side and preferred the Yamaha just a little bit. So much that I bought four of them. They make for a great backline when you stack two of them on top of each other on their sides.

They just kinda do their own thing. They never go to NAMM. IIRC the Axe-FX III was announced on the Monday after NAMM in 2018 which was a pretty hilarious way to take the wind out of everyone else's sails.

The other day I finally purchased my dream analog rig. Dual Rectifier Multi-Watt with a Recto 2x12 cab and a Maxon OD-808. So far, the Axe-FX through FRFR speakers (Yamaha DHR12M) sounds better in every way.

Any non-beta version is assumed to be reasonably stable. If any severe or obvious bugs are found, they are usually corrected within a day or two of initial release. When it doubt, just wait a week after any firmware release, then install. Also, NEVER install right before a gig, of course.

I was wondering the same thing. I remember on the II that running two amp blocks made each block run in a lower resolution mode,IIRC. I'm wondering if anything like that is in play on the III. Seems like there's no reason to switch between blocks anymore.

That does seem unusual. If I recall correctly, those pickup should be medium output, right? How high are the pickups raised? If I were you, I'd leave it at 5% and try lowering the pickups a bit and see what that does.

JB clipping using 5150 Red & Blue Channels with firmware 22.0

Setting Instrument Level 1 to 5% seems to be the magic number for most people with hot pickups, myself included. Handles my guitars with JBs just fine. Might be able to go higher than that but start there.

I don't think losing legacy cabs to make room for extra Dyna-cabs is on the table. I can't remember a time where Fractal has removed a major component just to make room for something else. Reminds me of when Mk 1 users were clamouring for FullRes , saying they wouldn't mind sacrificing a user...

I wonder if the space limitations have to do with Mk I vs Mk II and if there's a possibility of Mk II/Turbo users getting more mic options. Otherwise, was the extra memory just for FullRes cabs?

Funny, I found the Straight can entirely too harsh and thin compared to the Slant. Care to share your settings? Really curious to see how much these cabs will change with the final firmware. Also, the Recto Slant sounds CRAZY good with a single Dynamic mic. IIRC I had it set to ~1.40 position ...

The input clipping warning is super helpful and something I was close to feature requesting. Could we move it to the top of the screen, between the tuner and the Home tab? Or maybe even relegate it to the I/O Input screen?

Where are you setting your input level?

Oh good, a thread that validates my neuroticism about this! Seems like most people with really high output pickups are setting it at 5% to avoid clipping the waveform and/or overloading the converters. I've been using a combination of low input sensitivity with my bridge pickup (PRS HFS) so low...

Before I pull the trigger...

If you don't need crazy elaborate presets, you're not going to need a Turbo. Of course there's nothing wrong with getting the extra horsepower just because. Wireless headphones are a bad idea unless they're low latency. Do you have any studio monitors?
