Matt smith has some nice YouTube spots about open cords in open G tuning. I have one guitar fitted with heavier strings in open g with 5 strings ala Keith Richards. Make you do very different combinations

Dealing with Arthritis,Carpal Tunnel,and other Hand Aliments

I had surgery on both hands for carpel tunnel with good result about 10 years ago. the nerve going to most of your fingers goes through a bony tunnel. inflammation of the nerve results in swelling and the nerve gets compressed.They make the tunnel wider by removing a bit of bone. Been fine...

Mac OSX El Capitan upgrade from Yosemite

I find the midi in El Capitan flaky at best.Logic pro x hangs often and the only way is to restart Logic. My Tripleplay software hang often and the only way is to restart my mac pro.Some usb hard drives are not detected at startup,a quick disconnect /reconnect of the USB cable fixes that.Best...

just upgraded my 2015 Mac Pro to OS X 10.11 and now both axe edit and Fractal-bot are not connecting to my axe fx2 over USB. anybody else with this problem ?

Roland VG-99?

I have a vg8 and a vg99.Havent turned them on since i got the axe fx. They where the best thing around 5 years ago but no upgrades since even the change from vg8 to vg 99 was very minimal.variax is better for guitar modelling. I should really sell all that stuff as i never use it anymore.

just tried to instal and I get "no suitable java runtime detected" but latest java is installed in default location . tried reinstalling mfc edit after reinstalling java but still the same osx 10.10.2 on mac pro.

Learning scales the easy way.

Have a look at fretlight guitars, very cheap and not bad to play. Can show you any scale,chords etc. On the neck.get it with guitar pro for fretlight and you can do a lot . I wouldn't use the guitar for gigs but to practice a very good tool.

Given up trying to get USB to work

I had the same problem with my previous powermac 2010. After 2 min the latency would jump. Increased buffer size in logic fixed that. My problem is that both the 2010 and my new 2014 powermacs don't see axe fx usb. Only a 2007 powermacs does. I have to put the axe usb into the old powermacs for...

What made you pull the trigger on the Axe?

for years I had the roland stuff,VG8-VG99 gr33 etc. through a marshall combo. was ok for the time but no updates or bug fixes to speak of. Than the line 6 route with full dream rig of guitar/hd500 and valve amp, again verry little follow up of bug fixes or updates. Came across axe fx on you tube...

Since Yamaha took over line 6 all line 6 gear in Australia is on 1/2 price special except for wireless transmitters. I think that Yamaha is deleting the whole line 6 line and incorporate the technology in new Yamaha gear

Any Macbook Pro USB 3 issues?

Gibson Les Paul Advice...what to buy

Hi, yes it has a asymmetrical neck, find it comfortable ,different but not less than my custom. Workmanship is good .this is more a bonamassa sounding lp rather than rock .also like the out of phase setting for that peter green sound. Both have good sustain even without amp.

I have bought a 2013 lp standard plus that I love.good sound and a lot easier on the shoulder than my '68 black beauty .very different sounding from my custom but very nice to play. At 63 years old I can't handle the heavier custom but I could not sell it as we have been together for 45 years.
