Excited to see the Mark V channels appearing in these updates! I used to gig with a Mark V with horizontal Recto 212 cab years ago. Always loved that amp. Funny enough, I sold that setup to fund my first Axe Fx 2! haha Looking forward to exploring it's sound again!

Who else never really uses the drive block(s)?

I have never used them either. I have owned some over the years, but always preferred straight up amp gain. However, I do use a Princeton Rev patch with a Tone of Kings to gain stage and give the amp a little more attack.

[SOLVED] Please help. Am I overlooking something with 4CM (Diezel VH4 and FM3)?

Use a humbuster cable from the out 2 of your FM3 into the input of your amp. Makes a big difference. Channel 3 of my Bogner XTC is unusable with my Axe 3 in 4CM, without it. Also, USB connections from your FM3 to your PC or MAC maybe culprits of some noise in this config as well.

Fletcher Munson curve - EQ solution for different volume playing

With gigging presets on a loud PA, On the cab block, start by doing a low cut at 100 Hz and high cut from any where between 6000 Hz and 8000 Hz. I mostly use a PEQ block after the cab block for this, as I can chip away at other frequencies with it if I need to.

I using an Ox Box with a Line In mod (basically the same as an Ox Stomp) with my Axe III for cab sim, and it sounds fantastic. I do plan on getting an Ox Stomp when they become readily available here in Canada.

Acoustic Guitar through the Axe FX III?

I am switching between electric and acoustic at gigs as well. Running a Martin HD28 with a Fishman piezo (can't remenber the exact model) directly in to the Axe, and it always sounds great. I have never been a fan of using acoustic CAB IRs in a full band context or using the Axe fx preamp block...

Interesting. Yesterday I connected my Ox to the Axe Fx 3 using SPDIF. That must be whats causing it! I think the Ox is fixed at 44.1k. I am assuming there's no way around this given the Axe is fixed at 48k?

Tactics for doubling / thickening stereo sound live when only 1 guitarist

It's totally an amp in the room thing that is more exciting. If I were to hook up the XTC to a loadbox and run it through some IRs it's a much closer experience to the Axe models.

I have tested using an Axe Fx 3 in 4cm as well as just in the FX loop with a Bogner 20th Anniversary Ecstasy, so I can probably chime in here. :) Running the Axe Fx 3 just in the loop is noise free and tone tampering from the Axe Fx 3 is beyond minimal. Sounds great! In 4CM method, it's great...

Thankful for everything that Fractal does, but I have to agree, the VC in the FM3 is not usable in a gigging situation unfortunately. It is what it is at this point I guess. I have learned to live with it. The Axe Fx 3's VC is really good though.

Modifiers assign issues using mastermind GT22

With GT Mastermind (I use a GT16) I tend to use External 1 to attach modifiers to anything. Like a Wah for example. However, for this to work you have to define the CC number for External 1 on the Axe and on the Mastermind itself. They have to match basically. I use CC 11 for this. Hope that helps.

Sticking with the FM3? Upgrading to FM9? Why?

I have an FM3/FC6 as well as the big guy. I’m on the waiting list and will more than likely upgrade to an FM9. Probably sell the FM3 and keep my FC6 for my Axe Fx 3. Pretty happy with the FM3/FC6 for gigging, but the extra horse power and seamless switching with two amps makes me want to upgrade.

Question re: AxeFX3, stereo and sound engineers live

Assuming that the patch/s you're using are setup properly for stereo, all you should have to do is give the FOH guy a Left and Right signal and have him hard pan both channels left and right, you'll be fine. Putting all of your stereo effects after the cab block, IMO is better way to do this but...

For those that have an Axe-Fx III and an FM3

I currently have both. The Axe Fx 3 since it's first released and and just recently (right before Cygnus was released for it) an FM3. My main application for these things are for live gigs. As far as sounds go, both sound great. I don't feel that one sounds better than the other. YMMV Some...

Mounted to a Temple Audio Duo 24" board. Live I currently use a Dunlop Mini x but am on the wait list for an EV-2. Power, L & R XLRs, and 1/4" jacks on the side of the board!

Question about High and Low cut in the Bloc Cab

I always try and keep in mind that once you are in a full band mix, a lot of those highs that you are hearing in the higher ranges that are slightly annoying with the guitar on it's own, can't REALLY be heard. They also give you clarity in a full band mix. As for the lows, just cut up to 125 by...

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 16.01 Beta 1 Public Beta

At the moment I only use 3 or 4 of the amp models in the axe fx for recording a live use. but I really notice a difference in the BE100 model (HBEV1). In this beta it seems like the low end is tighter/clearer to my ears. Really digging it.
