need help - no output level

I had a similar experience a while ago. Meters showed input and output, FRFR powered speakers no sound, headphones no sound. Powered off/on and all was good. Haven't a clue as to why and it has not happened again since. Odd for sure.

Axe Edit constant crashes

Same issue here. Seems random & intermittent. Never had issues until recently. Running latest firmware on a 2015 IMac. I have to force quit AxeEdit & turn off/on my AxeII to fix the issue.

I do make my own presets. I was just commenting on the original post. I must be in the minority but having Auto Engage as the default setting for all the Wah blocks is not a good idea. It can make for some pretty wonky sounding presets if the expression pedal is engaged accidentally. I have an...

I use my expression pedal for a number of things other than Wah i.e. Volume, Drive, Reverb etc. Don't use Wah much. Prior to the Preset update around Firmware 18 I don't think this was the behavior. Easy enough to fix but it can lead to weirdness in a preset if you aren't aware of it. Doesn't...

So Auto Engage is default on all Wha blocks in the presets and will be active even when bypassed. Ok, interesting. Might want to rethink that one IMHO.

Have the same problem. Only happens on factory presets. Even with the Wah bypassed if you move your pedal it will engage. I don't use the Wah block so I shunt or delete it. I think this started the last time the presets were updated. This can make the presets sound like crap if you don't realize...

Vertigo

Have your Thyroid level checked. I used to have bouts similar to Coldstar's. The ear specialist diagnosed Positional Vertigo. My Dr. diagnosed low to no Thyroid function. Once I started taking Thyroid medication I have not had another bout since.

Anyone own one of these? Powered cab

Love mine. I own a CLR powered wedge but prefer the Gemini. Really nice stereo image from a single cab. My presets translate well from Headphone / Recording to the Gemini 2. I also play my Bass (Ibanez 5 String Fretless & Fender Jazz) through it and it sounds excellent.

OK...I'm in....just ordered AXE FX II XL+ to replace Line6 PODHD500X

There will be a Wow factor. I moved from the HD500 about a year and half ago and have only used the HD as a Midi Foot Controller for the Axe. I happily used Line 6 for years but the Axe FX II is in another league. Enjoy!

Yes, from Axe Edit use Axe Manage Presets. If you've backed up banks you can access each bank once loaded into Axe Manage Presets audition area & drag and drop into the preset slot of your choosing. Be sure to save and you will be good to go. Very useful feature.

This is happening to me when I move one of the new presets through Axe Edit/Manage Presets to one of my empty slots. The Wah appears Bypassed but is active. Just verified this is happening even when previewing presets in Axe Edit.

Converting from 15.04 to 18.04....advise on where to start on tweak?

Be prepared.... There have been a lot of changes in Amps and User Cabs so you could get some interesting changes. I had a bass preset that when I went to 18 had a 2X12 Fuzzbomb in the cab slot. Some presets translate some don't and I went from 17.4 to 18. Best bet may be to start building...

Still struggling getting a nice breakup

Try the Dirty Shirley amp model. Check out Wiki for Cab suggestions. Cleans up well with the volume control lowered and has a nice classic overdrive with volume up. I would also suggest that you make your own preset from scratch.

Clean to "clean-with-a-little-hair" discussion

Try the Wrecker Liverpool model. Lower your volume control on your guitar to clean up. Can go from sparkly cleans to overdrive bliss on the same setting. Very touch sensitive as well. If you dig in on the clean you can get a little hair. One of my favorites.

How about a 'tweakers guide' to tone?

I would suggest a couple of ways to go about this; 1. Find a simple Preset that you like & Remove/Shunt or Bypass all except the Amp/Cab/(Reverb) blocks. Adjust amp to your liking using the controls you are familiar with. See what Cab is present & go to Wiki & see what other Cabs are...

Dramatic changes in the Roland JC 120 ?

My Jazz120 patch also turned from clean to dirty. I don't use it that often so I'm not sure when it occured. I was able to go back to a saved version that was clean. FWIW the Mr Benson preset that uses the Jazz120 is fine.

Axe-Fx II Firmware Version 13.02 Released

Amazing!!! A bottle of wine may get better with age but it usually takes years of aging. My Axe II has gotten better in just a few months(shipped with 10.9). Thank You Very Much!!!!! More IR's..... Excuse me while I explode!

Axe-FX II Vs XL

XL for the extra Pedal Jack & the Optical Wheel. Lots of other nice features that would make it worth the cash IMO.
