Sticking with the FM3? Upgrading to FM9? Why?

I feel this way as well. Factory presets in general are darker in my end vs what I hear in youtube demos. For example in Cooper Carter’s demos the factory tones sound amazing and compared to my gear I have much darker tone. I have to check the Global settings… My guitars should be good to go...

Importing AxeIII preset and user cab bank

I just drag’n’drop AFXIII Preset to FM3 Edit. Haven’t notice any problems… Well every preset has the output Block in the beginning of the grid, but that must be because AFXIII has little bigger grid. I am not sure if loading Axe FX III Banks is possible.

It is actually very interesting how hot the bridge Suhr is. In AX8 it tickles the red input light vs my Skervesen with BKP Holydiver doesn't. In both guitars I have the pickup height at 2mm away from the strings, when pressing string from the last fret.

Ideal EQ for metal tone

Cut -2dB on 250hz. This opens/clears the tone 'always'. Just use the post EQ that is in the amp block. Post Parametric EQ Make one or two cuts with narrow Q to get rid off some 'nasty' frequencies. You'll find them putting the Q to 10 and boosting it to MAX. Then move the frequency knob around...

PERFECT GUITAR!!!! Got the guitar today and it is a beast and a beatiful beast indeed! Very high end instrument, it just screams quality. It is like new, just like the seller said. I am Very VERY happy!

I had a RAN Crusher FT7. Loved it. Never seen a bolt-on guitar with a neckjoint like they do. It was pure sex! Kinda miss, that I sold it. Mine didn't have anything fancy going on in wood choises. Mahogany body and Maple neck. But it was a killer guitar, 10/10 quality!

Ways the AX8 has expanded your thinking/your favorite workaround

The most handy CPU saving tricks for me are: 1. Block X/Y changing as you mentioned. 2. Setting Cab Block to Normal quality. 3. Setting Reverb quality to normal. 4. Lowering reverb density parameter.

With BKP's you can never go wrong IMO. All my other guitars have BKP's. My personal favorites from them are the Black Dog set and Juggernaut set.
