How do large scale concerts deal with latency?

I’d imagine they just adapt as they are professional touring musicians. I mean back in the day before IEMs and stuff artist still played huge stages and they didn’t have wedges everywhere so they could walk out to the wings, into the crowd and still play a spot on solo even if they are hearing...

Use existing Wah as Expression Pedal?

I think most stuff will work, I think I used 100k, thing you want though is a linear taper, not audio taper. Then yes, just unscrew the TS output jack and replace it with a TRS jack, so then you can plug a TRS cable between the pedal and the Fractal unit… Could also just cut the end off a TRS...

Use existing Wah as Expression Pedal?

Those cheap ones are plastic and have a totally different feel under foot, way too long of throw to do whacka whacka wah pedal stuff They aren’t bad for adjusting delay time, effects mix etc, but far cry from a crybaby lol
  4. L

Use existing Wah as Expression Pedal?

You can’t, but it’s pretty easy to swap out the pot for a linear pot and wire up a TRS jack and then you’ve got a proper expression pedal in a Crybaby housing, maybe $10 in parts…. Mission makes some that are pretty nice if you don’t want to DIY

I don’t use cabs at all. Sounds great!

What does PRS’s $499 guitar mean?

Flat screen tvs, as an example, have gotten bigger, better and much cheaper than a decade or two ago. This is true of lots of products. Perhaps guitars shouldn’t be any different…: If I can drive over to Walmart, get a 75” 4K tv for $599, and it’s actually a great tv, then maybe I should...

Wish Third Man Records Plasma Coil fuzz pedal

If anything, I like the plasma drive version better, it’s purple instead of yellow lol, but it also has a blend knob instead of the octave settings. Being able to dial in some clean with the fuzz/distortion effect makes it a lot more usable. Usually can find them a fair bit cheaper too I do...

Wish Third Man Records Plasma Coil fuzz pedal

I have one, it’s a cool pedal based upon the concept and the visual, but there isn’t anything really unique about the tone, just a kind of broken sounding heavily gated fuzz. If it was just in a solid plain box, I don’t think anyone would play one. Only thing that makes it cool is watching...

Are you using Axe-Fx/FM9/FM3 with a tube amp?

I run my fm3 right into a 5 watt tone king gremlin, set clean. For cleaner patches I usually bypass the IR block, as the open back cabinet and 12” Alnico cream sounds so good and room filling For higher gain stuff, I often leave the cab block on, as I find you can really dial in a lot of...

    Roland sound cloud/VST's (synths)

Jd08 is just using zencore like the mc101 etc, not the actual sample data from the old JDs. Can’t load JD patches etc. not a bad synth, but the form factor isn’t great as they have so much in such a little size. Main issue is the 4 digit LCD just doesn’t give any any idea what your working...

    Roland sound cloud/VST's (synths)

If you can find a D05 boutique you can directly transfer and save all the d50 cloud stuff right into it. I used the cloud vst as a sort of editor and librarian for a bunch of patches (tons on the net too free) and then once I had my d05 loaded up, canceled and just stick with the hardware

    Wish Sample Block

I think even if you wiped out a bunch of IR’s you’d still only have a very short sample time, and then people would complain about why you only get 5 seconds when other products have 30 minutes etc etc, not to mention how little use it would provide

FM3 or Axe FXiii for Pink Floyd duel amp setup

I’d say like 98% of hardware gilmour rigs I see, even from some of the best guys like Kit Rae, Bjorn etc who simply nail the tones, are not using dual amps. Any clean high headroom amp will really work, twin, Hiwatt etc. The Gilmourish guy nails it even using a little Laney Cub lol

Crybaby converted to Expression pedal issue

I’ve found most any linear taper pots work, 10k, 100k etc, all calibrated fine, main thing is you don’t want audio taper. You’ll want to use a TRS cable as well, can’t remember the wiring off hand, but I think it’s the standard expression pedal method, nothing weird or unique to make it work

  37. L

Wish Remove the loud clap when turning on/off

The Axe3 has the soft power up feature. I don’t know if it’s hardware or software Most audio devices like synths, effects units etc pop when powered on though, it’s why you turn your monitors on last, power off first, or have the channel muted when plugged into a PA

How long does a guitar that stays in tune actually stay in tune?

Guitar is never in tune, it’s always a dynamic thing, fret a chord, one string goes flat etc, tune that string, another string goes sharp, do a bend, one string is flat Basically its just a question of how out of tune it is at a given time.
