Bought my first IR pack for $1 dollar two days ago here. I like it for clean to edge of breakup on up but I wish I would have bought the full pack because I'm going to end up with it anyway because of the quality of the sounds I'm getting out of it...

gapless amp switching

Fixed it. Amp channel was the culprit. The thing is the gap shows up even if the block is disengaged. Not that big of a deal really...the gap is annoying but not really that bad. Thanks for all the help guys.

I have just noticed that my FM9 setup produces a gap between amp1 and amp2 engagement. I have both in parallel in the signal. I use a scene controller to mute one and engage the other with one set up for a clean amp and the other set up for a dirty sounding amp. I had it set up the same way...

So I've narrowed it down to the HS7, HS8, and A7X. Checking out the difference in the HS (8 vs 7) first off. I'm leaning toward the HS series because of the price point obviously but I haven't ruled out the A7Xs. As for Genelec Neuman etc.. I'm sure they are great options but I'm not willing...

Great weekend to try out this new FW. So far Macloving it. I have not noticed much difference in CPU optimization. My main preset has a Plex Delay in it and when I use some of the algorithms the CPU meter still dimes. Favorite amp models seem to change over time based on firmware updates...

optomization! must mean CPU optimization which at this point is a must. I'm getting to 85% pretty easy which is pretty unusable at that high usage. I agree with someone who said it best to stay in the 70s if at all possible.

I'm glad the plex delay was added to the fm9 but it can really eat up some CPU horsepower. That one block it seems is the most intensive on CPU. Also the reverb can get there with some of the more exotic verbs like strato etc.

I noticed that using the plex delay sees a significant jump in CPU usage. If memory serves me I think it jumped 10-12%. If I pull up the very first preset on the plex delay (cant remember the name off hand) it jumps all the way to 85%+-. At the 85% mark my fm9 responds very slowly to changes...

Just updated to this firmware. Sounds great and I like the features but as for the CPU performance, not so good. I'll probably go back to the previous firmware until this one gets finalized. BTW what's taking so long. This is by far the longest Beta release I've seen.

not sure if this is an axe edit problem or firmware issue. The actual amp model in the amp block on the Axe doesn't coincide with the amp model displayed in axe edit. I can change amp models via the Axe or through Edit but Edit shows me a totally different model than what has been selected...

What amp did the Axe-Fx III make you discover and fall in love with?

I love most all of them. I found out that I love mid gain and lower gain sounds after owning the Axe. Badger 18 and 30 CAE Clean XTC Blue (vintage channel with a pedal in front for more Gain), lots of nuance depending on playing touch.

Why is there no "Axe-Fx IIl Tone Match" section in this forum?

Thats why I wonder why there has been advice about performing the tone match in a particular room. Whats the difference? I’m sure there is something to be gained from room reverb but what would it be? It seems like a filter wouldn’t have the ability to capture the nuances of reverb.

Just updated from 7. Huge difference in sound in my opinion. Carol-ann Tucana sounded so different that I had to totally redo the preset. The Bogner Blue amp sounded good before but now it really came alive in the top end it seems. Very impressed with this update.

too bad I was only a clueless 8 years old at the time. One of my favorite guitarists of all time. At least you got to seem him during these, in my opinion, greatest albums they ever produced.

Your probably right simeon. Just a dream at this point. For those that love gear and tinkering with plugs and switches (not me) there is no issue. I’ve never really loved gear and just like to make noise. I’m thinking about going down the rabbit hole of looping with Ableton as many already...

How to get warm round high end

Have you tried using some light compression? I think I understand what you’re saying. And yes...digging in will round out the notes provided you are on an amp that behaves that way in the high end.
