    I had a Sterling by Music Man Ray 35 for a while, fantastic bass, couldn't fault it in any way. Only sold it as i came to realise 5 string was just not my thing, not really a bass player..     No such thing as perfect, apart from in the mind of the beholder. If you're going to play it, then a minuscule scratch probably isn't up there on the list of things to get upset about. If you're thinking re-sale value, you can bet it'll be used as a bargaining chip/scratch.

    Battery should last about 100 hours in a pre-refined Fly. Rewiring it so the mod is fully reversible is no big deal, you could even remove the whole pre-amp board and ribbons and just do straight mag conversion, easy enough to reverse. Lose the piezo though..

    I use Schallers, like the mechanism, dab of loctite (or superglue at a pinch) holds the nut just fine. The only thing..they do wear out, at least mine have. I think what goes on is the spring-loaded lock pin thing seems to wear and get a bit of "slop", or maybe the whole thing gets a bit worn...
