The legend Mark Day at support suggested reseating the ribbon cables, and lo-and-behold...it fixed the issue 100% with minimum time and effort, so thanks again to Mark and FAS, really appreciative of his help, especially during this time of year, and so glad to have this killer unit working...

I'm in the UK and they state they will only provide support to customers that bought the unit directly from them, I seem to remember they had a more lenient attitude to it in the past, but they are probably extremely busy these days in comparison so I don't want to pi*s them off haha!

Audio stutter

You can try lowering the quality of some of the blocks to lower CPU usage whilst keeping 99% of the same sound, for instance using standard IR resolution instead of Ultra Res in the Cabinet block options, and Normal Quality instead of High Quality in any reverb blocks etc...

Marshall or Peavey 5150 amp model and a compressor will get you far, as well as having the gain low enough to get that muted hammer-on sounding very articulated and rubber-band like.

WISH* VU Meters on Axe-Edit

Oh awesome... I thought the closest I could get to something like this would be using a VU meter in my DAW with recorded tracks (or monitoring via the DAW, but that would make it hard to hear perceived volume due to hearing 2 "monitors" at once, with slight delay). Thanks a lot! This works perfect.

If your camera is recording the audio as well then I'd just try to perfectly match the audio (pan camera audio full L, and direct signal audio full R, then make them overlap perfectly), watching the footage can help with the syncing too. That's how I do it anyway, probably more efficient/faster...

I think I will try HAAS combined with enhancer on a split signal route, try and experiment with getting as many concurrent sounds going on at once, 1 amp/cab with HAAS and another amp/cab with Enhancer, could very well lead me closer to ever than this elusive Shawn Lane tone! Cheers man

Thanks Unix, yeah I've seen Danny's video/post regarding that, very cool technique, although I tend to prefer using the "Enhance" block for the same effect due to the retaining of a balanced Left and Right volumes. Thanks for the tip on the delay also! I will definitely try that route instead...

Thanks a lot man :) yeah the only time I've noticed any latency is when using the axe fx as an interface while recording MIDI instruments, and in that case I either turn the buffer way down to as low as possible without audio artifacts, or just switch to ASIO4ALL and bypass the axe fx and go...

I think you are monitoring the Axe FX guitar tone out of your DAW, rather than just straight of the Axe FX. I'm afraid I can't remember exactly what I did, but I am hearing my guitar tone live out of the axe fx > output 1 > studio monitors/or headphones Then also getting my general PC sounds...

Ah ok thanks very much Chris, I was sort of not grasping the fact that the FX Loop automatically sent stuff to Output 2, as I thought that was something that might have had to been specified in a certain parameter or something on the I/O menus of the front panel. It's too late here at my house...

Great thanks very much for that :) I'm currently waiting on getting a poweramp for my passive monitor speakers and only have use of my normal PC speakers as of yet, do you think they would be ok to be plugged into output 2 (left channel I presume?) via a 3.5mm to 1/4" jack adapter? Thanks again!

Using a bass head as a poweramp for passive speakers/axe fx II?

According to the manual it is indeed a Speakon connector. So would my best bet be 1/4" jack out from balanced outputs to speaker wire in monitors? Don't think I've ever seen a jack to speaker wire cable before, not sure how this is done normally.
