Getting Rid of Cabinets, Need advice on FRFR

Not sure but from memory its the speaker used in the Friedman asm12. Dayton Audio 10 inch round horn. Eminence ASD1001 compression driver. 50w LPad for the ASD The crossover is an Eminence 3k5 unit. I made a baffle from 12mm ply to hold the horn. It screws into the four existing speaker mounting...

Getting Rid of Cabinets, Need advice on FRFR

Axe fx 2, MFC and real amp channel switching.

Hi Chris. I realise that the thru needs to be turned on. I can set the switch gizmo to store a patch change but not a scene change. I believe Scenes dont send any of the applicable midi messages so the Switch Gizmo has nothing to store. What I was thinking was that I could get each scene to...

What would be difference between Behringer Eurolive B115D and Atomic CLR

Just to play devils advocate, Ive played CLRs a few times and hated them. To me they sounded like HiFi speakers and nothing like a guitar cab. Id say find one to try before spending the money.

Advice on getting this sound (Doug Aldrich)

Reset the amp block when you load it up and make the changes you see here. Also remember a big part of that sound is 11's tuned down to Drop C. FAT tone. Maybe mess around with the cab but on my studio monitors and especially through my Friedman ASM12 it sounds pretty close.

Advice on getting this sound (Doug Aldrich)

Thats a Marshall Vintage Modern. You could get that tone from half a dozen different amps in the Axe. Its basically an internally jumpered plexi style circuit with a master volume, that runs KT66 valves. For me Id try the Dirty Shrley. Its fat yet still has the cutting Marshallesque mids...

    Up The Irons

Sounds fantastic. If I had to give any criticism Id say the vocal sounds a little too dry in the mix but its a great performance. Bruce Dickinson is a hard target to hit and this rocked. Playing and tones are rock solid.

Anyone tried JUST the cab block with real tube amps??

Anyone tried JUST the cab block with real tube amps??

One take, lots of mistakes. The powerbrake isnt great for slaving a tube amp as its a resistive load. There are alot of better reactive load options these days ( like your Torpedo) that dont compress the tone as much, but it still sounds ok I think. By the way Flash, this is the 101b you...

Anyone tried JUST the cab block with real tube amps??

Ive done it before and sounds great. Bogner XTC into my old Marshall powerbrake as a load. I also ran the speaker out into a transformer isolated lineout box I made. That line level signal then hit the Axe with just a cab block and some time based effects. Sounded wonderful. But why not just...

Not really. The waveguide is around 10" and conical so the dispersion is quite wide. Its no worse than any real cab Ive ever had regarding being off axis. As a personal monitor the wedge position is fine. If your using it as a backline or in a band situation as your only source of tone...

Is the ASM-12 loud enough to practice with a rock band?

Absolutely it is. I found its limit the other night. Volume on the ASM up full with the output level knob on the axe fx at 12 oclock. (Cameron CCV Amp sim master volume at 12 oclock and the level at -12.2db). This just barley tickled the clip light on the Friedman. I couldnt stand infront...

    Simulating Mesa 2:90 Deep mode?

Looking at the schematic for the 2:90 the deep mode is just a fixed resonance circuit and the "modern" switch does two things, it lower the negative feedback (giving the amp a more open sound) and also shifts the frequency of the presence knob, to allow more upper mids in the presence sweep...
