For the essentials I tend to stick with the main 10 core mixes. In some occasions the core single mics. However, if you really want to dial in your own sound the other folders definitely can be very useful.

AXE 3 vs EVH. Must see for anyone who still says the AXE is for effects only.

Cheers everyone! Obviously the Fractal performed really well and with some more tweaking I'm sure it could be dialed in to sound even closer. I didn't want to go advanced so I just stuck with the main controls (and resonance) and I think it got close enough. Especially since it's technically not...

Thanks! Not really, just a low cut on the guitar bus and on the master bus some things like bus compression but if a guitar sound doesn't work I just go back to the source until it works. These OH IRs certainly help with making all of that easier.

Nope. The routing options make this impossible basically. Another thing is that captures tend to be more accurate when you're running a 44.1khz interface. Luckily my Helix rack is very flexible with the routing and I can change the sample rate to 44.1khz so that's what I'm using now with amazing...

**HELP** - USB audio dropping out when using AXE Fx III as audio interface

I've had similar issues for years, haven't found a solution yet but if it's hardware related I doubt there is a solution. It happens to me when I switch off tube amps then the Axe Fx is powered on. Usually the amps are connected to one of the loops with a load.

There seems to be an improvement in the latency/offset when recording in my daw but it's not perfectly aligned just yet. I now have to manually input an offset of 75 samples in Cubase to make sure that everything aligns.

Mine has been great! It makes a HUGE difference for me when I'm routing my tube amps through the Axe Fx. Super clean and low noise! I would encourage you to try some different adapters and also the cables of the adapters. It did make a difference in my case. Without the adapter the iDefender...

I can't give a definitive answer yet but it seems to be at least much much better now. I've only had it disconnect once at startup. Now I'm starting up the PC first and then the Fractal. So far no issues...

Digitech Whammy, who else is a fan?

The bass whammy works fine with guitar but it has enhanced tracking for low notes. It also has different interval options, which are kind of cool to be honest.

I got the iDefender+ and I think it works! Without the 5v adapter it reduced the noise but it didn't elliminate it completely. Fortunately it worked with a simple 5v PC adapter connected to it! I tried a different 5v adapter first, that didn't work, but my old phone adapter does work! No noise...

I looked it up, did a search but it doesn't seem to be a shielding issue to be honest. It seems to be coming from the cable. When the cable is unplugged the noise goes away. Moving the PC much further away also didn't make a difference.

Axe FX III DI vs. Dedicated DI Box (e.g. Countryman Type 85)?

My 2 cents: I've been using the Axe Fx (II, XL+ and) III to record the DI tracks for just about everything I do and it always sounds great! So in my opinion the DI quality really is amazing. I wouldn't worry about it. When I heard Glen say that I was like 'uuuuhhhh no'.

Making Kemper profiles with the Kemper in a loop from the Axe-Fx III

Of course I'm also going to do that! :) This is not about what's better, having a Kemper in the studio will be beneficial for me in multiple ways. It will be fun to make tonematches of my amps as well, should sound very accurate!

Fredrik Thordendal and Meshuggah's Presets

I believe those are my Meshuggah tonematch presets? Someone changed the name of the zip. Either way, they should sound good on an Axe Fx II at least. I even sent them to Fredrik to try out. I heard later that Fredrik was using cabs live that were actually tonematches/IRs from the Chaosphere...

USB disconnecting

Yes, sometimes it seems to have to do with power! For instance, my USB has disconnected on some occasions when I turned a tube amp on or off, that amp was connected to my loadbox and Axe Fx. Strange

I'm still dealing with this issue everyday. I've tried everything but to no avail. Never had these issues with the previous Axe Fx iterations nor with other sound cards.

Legacy Presets Bay Area Metal Giants Vol.1 & 2 out now! (METALLICA presets) XL+ & AX8

Hey everyone, Just want to let you guys know that these presets are still awesome for the Axe Fx XL+ (II or XL also) and AX8. I have not tested them on the III so I can't comment on that. If you want to run these on the III, buy them at your own risk. Some folks have done that and done it...

I just want to get back to my main question without all the other irrelevant stuff: I'm just curious if it's recommended to use the Fractal LB-2 with solid state amps or not. It doesn't say so in the manual.

No, not really tbh. My entire rig is built around my Axe Fx so the Fractal stuff has everything to do with it.
