I don’t want to imagine the work that goes into translating and maintaining the firmware. I wonder if there aren’t any cheaper and slower TI DSP sharing the same architecture and instruction set? That would make life for Fractal Audio a lot easier, if these were used in the FM3/FM9.

No. Sag controls the magnitude of the supply voltage drop, when the power amp is pushed and draws more current from the power supply. The voltage drop of sag is just temporary if you play. What I mean is a static change of the virtual supply voltage from e.g. 240 V to 236 V.
