Fixed Why Cant I set Differing Parameters between Scenes?

Yes its always been a little flaky, but it got worse. I was able to put my mouse over the fields that were incorrect and it would update, not any more. Now when you load a program, only the default scene is displayed regardless of which scene you change it to.

It appears that axe edit isn't refreshing the midi block values when changing a scene within a preset. Hardware is OK though. I'm on the latest firmware and axe edit.

Yes Assign the boost switch to an external controller, assign the external controller to a CC, Send a 127 value value from your midi controller to that CC on the same midi channel the axe is using to turn it on and a 0 (or 1) to turn it off.

Celestion F12-X200

No not really, its supposed to be FRFR, it has a tweeter, and you use IR's with it. Resonant frequency really comes from the cabinet. 200 watts is not low power. The claim to fame on this one is that it supposed to "feel" like a guitar speaker more than standard FRFR speakers.

Sennheiser EW G4 Question

Shut off the transmitter so its making noise. In the receivers menu, find the Squelch setting and set it to a higher number until the noise goes away. In most cases this will work unless the frequency your using is unusually noisy.

FC layout selection in Axe-Edit and on the FC-12 not in sync?

Sounds like a good idea until you have more than 1 FC connected. Which FC would be changed, all of the connected ones change to the selected layout, just FC1 or FC2, etc. I think this would be problematic.

A bit stumped by Ares on Axe-Fx II XL ...

Downgrading the hardware is not a problem, its just a firmware update. However, if you have saved your presets in a newer firmware they often won't work at all with the older firmware and you will need to restore them from an older backup.

What Am I Missing...

This is the beauty of control switches, they can ignore scenes or be activated by them. Most likely your control switch settings are set to "Last" for all scenes. Just change them to "Off".

There are a couple of ways you can do this already. Assign a control switch as the modifier for the bypass state. Make sure the presets have the control switch set to "Last". Or you can use a controller as the modifier for the bypass state then assign an external switch to that controller...

Ok I’m doing this by memory. Using axe edit select fc controllers, click on button 5. It should be set to select preset 5 within a bank. Since you changed the bank size to two, it probably now says 2.

The default for layout 1 is setup for bank size of 10. If you are going to use a bank size of 4, then you need to re-program the 6 switches that are setup to access programs 5-10 to do something else.

Dead time between songs ideas???

My band will typically do 3 or 4 songs in row without a break between songs. We play to a click, run an automated light show but put in the breaks for changing instruments, tuning and acknowledging the audience.

Matrix gt1000fx owners I got a Q for ya

I have 1000 and 1600 and they both do that. Its appears to me to be a little design flaw as you wouldn't think the unit should power itself back on for a moment after shutting it off. I've had mine for at least 5 years, no problem with either of them and I play almost every night.

As far as I know, the MFC would ship with a power adaptor. Most adaptors will list the output as 9VDC or 9VAC, some times they indicate DC with ---- and AC as ~.

Faslink (XLR) will not work. The MFC uses a different version of Faslink than the III. You must use a midi cable. According to the manual it uses 9V AC out adaptor, not DC, so the wiring shouldn't matter but you need to have the correct connector and be able to handle 10 watts.

Ya I think you're correct. The return values don't seem to be right and the current midi spec probably needs to be revised. Some values are getting doubled. Both play and record are sending duplicate return values. Stopped state doesn't have a bit assignment in the midi spec. Didn't matter...

Version 8.0 for windows. Noticed the per preset external switch values don't have an "OFF" value option in the drop down, just 0-127. Global switch values have the option in the editor and the MFC-101 has the option for both global and per preset. Current work around is to change them to off...

Correct, what you hear in the IEM's or recording would be the same but more effects could added by the board itself and not show up in the IEM mix, unless routed that way.

Axe Fx II Digital AES/EBU Output

No you cannot use the digital out to the Friedman directly. If you are not using the loop you can set it to duplicate output 1, that way you still have your own monitor volume using out 2 and send output 1 to FOH.

From the manual: It should be in the Audio page of the I/O menu. Should say something like COPY OUT 1 TO OUT 2 (OFF/ON). Pretty sure you were on the right page already just needed to scroll farther down to see it. This is not available via axe edit, you must use the front panel.

OK your preset layout looks good. As I noted before you can get rid of the fx loop if you set the axe to copy output 1 to 2, but it doesn't matter either way will get you the same results. Ya NH is pretty nice some of the year, not a big fan of winter though... I have a pair of QSC KW153's...

We would need to know what speakers you are using and how you are using output 2 (in the grid or just copying output 1 to 2) if your using it in the grid, then a copy of your preset or an image of the grid layout would be helpful.

Yes you will still need to deselect/reselect if you haven't already for Q7. FYI - Now all AxeFX II models don't have the previous firmware option, it was removed.

Is the Matrix GT1000FX Enough?

The GT1000FX is enough to blow up a single 4 x 12 depending on the cabs configuration or resistance (ohms). I have both, use the 1600 to drive 4 marshall cabs (16 ohms each). If I go with a single stack, then I just use the 1000. Plenty loud...:D
