A question about chaining FC's...

So as I understand it, each FC will allow you to connect 4 expression pedals and 4 switches. You can chain up to 4 of these units together. So does that mean I could have, like, 16 expression pedals and 16 switches (theoretically speaking, of course) or is there a limit imposed by the Axe3?
