Fractal Audio AMP models: Citrus Bass 200 (Orange AD200B)

I prefer the Citrus just a smidge -- just a smidge -- over the SV bass. Love both of those. USA 2 is pretty good for my active bass, but USA 1 and FAS bass don't do much for me.

Wow, it's pretty complex... it had a boatload of externals attached to various things (I'm guessing AX8 assignable switches?) that I had to delink. But looking at your patch definitely confirmed some things for me -- multi-delay[diffusion]->chorus->reverb.

12 gauge strings

Thanks Rex. Yep, the nut and bridge seemed to handle the heavier gauge just fine, but the low E seemed 'off' somehow. When I fretted octave at the twelfth fret, it was clear the intonation was off. So a trip to the shop's in order. :)

JMR, yes! This is why I went with the XL+ vs the more affordable AX8. I have a Rickenbacker 4003 with stereo output and want to run a Chris Squire/Geddy Lee type of setup -- the neck pickup to a clean SVT-style amp, and the bridge pup to a grit/grunt amp.

Yes, when my Axe arrives in January, I plan on updating my workflow from 44.1 to 48. Surprisingly, I just went thru my Kontakt folder and noticed virtually all of my sample libraries are at 44.1 (and half of those are probably 16/44.1).

No worries, Greg! I'd say connect via SPDIF if you can, but via analog would be fine too. Try both. I think SPDIF may only make a slight difference when it comes to reamping, but I can't say for sure because like you, my Axe isn't here yet (not even ordered yet!) ASIO limitations -- I can't...

Thanks! That's why I love this site -- I had never considered the master/slave aspect of SPDIF. Having just looked at Focusrite's website, they don't advertise this on their Saffire Pro pages. And prospective buyers probably wouldn't find out until they bought the unit or downloaded the pdf...

Indeed. But I never saw myself using any sort of outboard gear, obviating the need for any kind digital I/O. Focusrite's Saffire Pro series has SPDIF at very affordable prices, so I'll research doing an aggregate AI w/SPDIF + Duet for conversion combo.

Alex Lifeson's tech seems pretty impressed with the Axe II

Album sales

Yup. iTunes, Amazon MP3 store, etc. call them albums. It's strange, I have no problem considering a digital collection of songs an 'album', but back in the day calling a cassette tape an 'album' struck me as odd.

Axe Edit app for iOS who would want it?

Tanx sheky. Drums were SSD 4; the bass is my EBMM Bongo 5 str fretless. I looked at Superior and it didn't seem like it would quite fit my needs. I bought BFD Eco with hopes of upgrading to the full BFD 2, but Eco left me really, really underwhelmed... flexible, but too dry and required too...
