Tried- Offline, live, Left, Right, Sum, Feeding it from iTunes, from logic. Tried creating a new patch from scratch, tried old patches where tonematch is fine. Still getting the same results. Bit puzzled........

Weird artifact after palm mute

Try muting the strings behind the nut, you can get some odd overtones that are really prevalent when palm muting. Could be that? Had a problem with my les paul, tried everything, even replaced the nut. Didn't stop it. I used a small piece of the foam you get with EMG pickups under the strings...

Here ya go ;) Just be aware its a tone match in 9.2 so will likely sound a bit pants in 10. Its very bright but its pretty close the original lead part in Dont damn me. Did it on a Les Paul Custom with EMGs which is very dark sounding so you'll probably have to back off the top end quite...

Maybe I need to reload FW10?

Yeah, I noticed that. I just went into the amp EQ section & boosted it all in there to bring the volume up a touch. Reloading firmware didn't help

10. firmware crashing during hardware back up

Used fractal bot to downgrade, uninstalled Axe edit then reinstalled. Worked a treat. Back to normal but my old presets have walked.

Just tried to run it again to see where it gets to and it crashed now axe edit shows the error and closes every time I try & re-open it. Tried shutting MAc down and rebooting axe fx, still getting the below-

One of my fav features is unusable

Completely unusable here too. Just like FW 10 in general. Pantaloons of the highest proportions. Gonna be downgrading to 9.2 tonight and it'll be the last time I'm messing with firmware.

Exactly same here. Downgraded back to 9.2 and it emptied axe fx. Couldn't get back my presets for love nor money. Low & behold as soon as I re-upgraded to FW 10 they were back

updated to FW10, i think something went wrong :(

The blanket effect has got progressively worse since 7. Duller & duller sounding IMHO. I'm really struggling now to get 10 to work for me.

Global amp modelling version - any difference?

I can. Starting at version 7 going through to 10 the patches get increasingly muddy and lacking in top end. It's like someones turned the presence down and its lost vibrance and string separation. 10 has bummed my patches to a point where they're unusable. not a happy bunny.

What did you rely on before the Axe-Fx

Peavey 5150 & Marshall 1960AB cab. That is all. Got rid of it after I got the Axe FX 2. Went from the worlds least versatile rig to the worlds most versatile & never looked back!

The slide patch is on axechange already, it's the Kirk Hammett live shit binge & purge tone match that I did but it really works well for that slide part, I have tweaked it quite a bit from the patch but only so far as the delay & reverb. The main rhythm sound isn't up yet but I'll post it...

Couple of tone matches- main rhythm and the slide lead. Just a snippet as i've only just started it....... First attempt at vocals too... probably last too lol. Thank god for auto tune!!!!! Gonna put some time in and re-record the vocals and the slide coz that a little out of tune too!

Just about at the end of my tether with this. Tried everything I can to stop the cracking and popping with the USB connection. I think it's great with all the firmware upgrades, additional amps and constant improvements we get but I really think FAS should be concentrating on sorting this...

No worries mate, glad you like it. To be honest I HATE rectifiers in the flesh but I think they sound great recorded. They feel horrible & fizzy to me but the mic'd up product is something to behold! Had a couple of Dual Recs but always found they got list in a live mix too. Stuck with 5150's...

Guitarists with EMG or Active Pickups. What is you instrument level set to?

Mines at 38% with a Jap ESP eclipse with EMG 81 and 60. I have experimented with settings as high as 60% but never really got any unwanted feedback. Maybe you should re-examine you're gain settings in the patches, I never have mine above about 5 at most on any amp.

If you're using a guitar cab, the tone match block will sit before your actual cab so will colour you're sound and it'll not sound anything like you're original patch, regardless of you having you're cab block switched in or out in the axe fx. Only way you'll get a good replication is if you...

EMG's Through Axe FX2?

It's a pretty common misconception that EMG's are hot as hell. They aren't, they just have a much more compressed signal output that many passives. Kind of gives the perception of more output because of the way they drive the amp. Really depends what passives your comparing them against...

General question about instrument input level settings

Just wanted to get an idea of how people set their instrument levels on the input page? What guitars/pickups you using for you're levels too? I've noticed with my guitars theres probably a 15-20% window between it going to amber and then into red. Any recommendations on setting the levels...

2 years tomorrow since Gary Moore died so decided to try and get close to his tone :)

It was a Japanese Tokai with stock pickups, uses neck and bridge at different points. They sound ok but don't clean up very well, need to upgrade them. Got a white les paul custom with EMG's too but that wasn't the right guitar for the clip, would have cleaned up a lot better though

Not really and interaction between guitar and speaker (M-audio AV40's), volume wise you could talk over it in the room (kids were in bed!) Just a bit of Axe FX magic and a half decent Japaneese Tokai Les Paul with stock pickups....

If you leave the power amp sims on all the time your getting the power amp sim from the the axe and the power amp from the Jubilee both colouring the sound. The jubilee is probably adding that bit of something special that you want that the Martix will never recreate. You'll never be happy with...

Thanks for the feedback, dont have the gain that high, 3.5 with boost engaged. Drive pedal isn't adding any extra gain just tightening thing up a bit. The gain is on 0 and the level is at about 4. Will try and back the gain off a bit but I don't wanna loose that saturated edge it has. Its really...

Cheers mate. I've altered it quite a bit from the one I posted because it really lacked bottom end and was a bit shrill at volume. Just EQ'd it really.
