A friend on mine recently installed a new set of Gen 4 Noiseless Jazz pickups in his MIM Jazz bass.
If you have experience with them, are they truly noiseless? His seem to have typical single coil noise.
Thanks.
Quick answer crazy!
I remember one time my youngest son had a soccer game 1:20 minutes away from home.
We had to be at the field by 6:00am. So Pack up all 5 of us and head out.
It was 43 Deg. F and it was a steady rain, and rained all day.
I love my kids, my wife was the one pushing for the...
My son asked me about this. Since I only live in Fractal land, I'm not up to date on what is available.
This would be for guitar and bass.
Again, inexpensive and easy to use are very important.
Any suggestions?
Can you recommend a speaker which you have used with good results for a Tele.
Looking for traditional clean tones with the ability to add gain/grit/distortion and keep a good tone together.
Thanks.
I made the same adapter for a Shure wireless, and I get that same noise!
I have not made any changes to the cable yet, looking for the best solution.
I just did some research, The Shure Power requirements are:
GLXD6+
Power Requirements
9 V – 15 V, 400 mA
The Joyo JP-06 Specs:

PLEXI 50W HIGH 1 (1967 50W Marshall Plexi)

I have a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop and a PRS Mark Tremonti Trem Single cut.
Of the 2 guitars, I end up playing the PRS like 99% of the time.
I grew up playing LP's. I love the look of the Goldtop.
I just gravitate to the PRS.
I have owned several PRS's and have enjoyed each one. High quality...
Anyone ever see this?
I just started seeing it the other day.
Any idea what it is or where it comes from?
It seems to disappear after about 5 minutes after start up.
As far as the noise goes, personally I would never spray anything into the input jack.
In worst case scenario, use a small can of compressed air, to gently remove dust, etc.
A clean cloth is all that should be needed on the 1/4" plug ends.
Abrasives and start to remove the finish on the metal...
@unix-guy I see you already bought some pots, just want to mention some that I really like and have had very good success with.

There is a short video there too.
Well after testing this for a while there is definitely a difference.
My conclusion for me and my setup, is having the Boost (Filter 1) block Before the parallel and cascading series effects.
It sounds more natural as I increase the boost.
Although, it was a cool experiment placing it right...
For me, the Compressor is right after In 1 Block.
Thinking about this more, if the filter boost is placed right before the output block, yes it will increase the tails but at the same time it will boost the unaffected signal too, and should do so equally.
The current placement is after amp & cab, before all the effects. Just to provide all the details.
I have a controller set up on the EV-1 to control the Filter level 0 to 3.3,
as well as Input Trim 0.3 to 1.3, and High Treble -5.0 to 0 in the amp block.
Mint Fractal Audio FM9 Turbo.

I have a stellar history as a seller on different platforms for over 20 years.

This sale is for USA 48 states only.
Thank you.
Hey guys, just thinking about this.
Do you think the best practice would be, placing the Filter Block right before the output block?
This Filter Block is controlled by the EV-1 for a volume boost from 0 to 3.3 dB.
In this case I am running Pitch, Delay, PlexDly all in parallel. The Filter boost...
I have used the different channels of the pitch block for virtual capo tunings.
Channel A Standard tuning, Channel B 1/2 step down, Channel C 1/2 step up.
Using scenes to pre-select and name it the corresponding tuning.
@fannar182 I have several Shure wireless systems and ran into the same issue.
What I did was A/B the wireless to a instrument cable while watching the input levels, using my ears and a SPL meter.
Took less than 10 minutes to get it all sorted out. Hope that helps.
Here is my next build.
Confession: I think I'm getting addicted to this!
Warmoth Swamp Ash Strat body, routed for most any pickup combination.
Forearm, tummy, neck heel comfort cuts.
The picture of the front is sanded, with one light coat of polymerized tung oil in the pickup cavity to test...
Good news is, it was a simple fix!
But, I can't remember what exactly it was.
I do remember I was editing the foot switches a lot, and operating the unit from both FM3-Edit and on the unit itself.
I shut down the FM3 and my PC. Disconnected all cables and started again.
I haven't seen even the...
Can we disable the flashing ring for this?
Please refresh my memory.
I've been all through the device settings and Axe-Edit.
Can't find any control for it.
Thanks.
As I am very happy with the AX3 reverb I have no intention of going backward on the firmware.
At the beginning of this, I didn't know what to expect.
Doing the actual testing I was surprised by the results. AX3 to FM3. Initially I thought it may have been a bug.
Day 2 of testing was...
I just confirmed that the Nimbostratus in the FM9 doesn't sound the same as the AX3.
I am just documenting my findings here.
Yes I run the edit programs at the same time so I can see values of each unit, triple checking!
Then playing through the AX3 then FM9 then AX3 then FM3.
So I have a nice sounding Reverb in my AX3. I applied all the parameter values to the same reverb type in the FM3.
It doesn't sound the same at all! I checked the values like 5 times. Type is Nimbostratus, Nothing crazy going on in there.
I'm running it in Parallel.
Is there something I am not...
And to follow up, the CPU values I see in my testing here with the FM3T.
Adding the Pedal 1 Comp block to the grid adds 1.5 - 1.9%
Removing the Comp block with a shunt and trying all 3 Comp Types in the Amp Block.
For the following, Feedback, Enhancer and Output, Output Compression values from...
Thanks guys! That info was a lot of help, and now knowing a bit more about them, I will try them out and note the CPU usage.
The goal was hoping to utilize the Amp Block for Comp to save CPU.
@unix-guy @Greg Ferguson
I am wondering if the Compressor in the amp block can be set up to replace a Compressor Block on the grid?
If so which type? I am hoping to get the same sound and feel doing this.
Hoping to save some CPU too.
Is this possible?
I have a Pedal 1 type Comp early in my...
FAS makes life changing gear in my opinion.
Truly the best $$$ $$$$ I have ever spent and continue to fully enjoy!
Also there are great people here on the forum which is so nice!
Happy New Year to all of you!
Lets make it a great 2024!
The fact is Gibson has had quality control issues for years.
I had the cash in my pocket and went to my local Gibson dealer.
I was there to purchase a new SG. I took the one off the wall down to play and inspect it.
It had finish flaws. My sales guy brought out 3 more brand new SG's from the...
Here is more information you can search.
https://www.mouser.com/c/?product=Bullet%20Connectors
These have been available for a long time, I see no reason they won't be available long past when we are gone.
Along the same line, I have several pick guards for my Strats.
A long time ago I decided to use male/female bullet style connectors for quick changing the guards.
I use them on the 2 wires to the output jack, all wired the same for a quick change.
I have my main preset on the AX3T, now looking to get that preset to my FM3T.
I know there will be compromises.
So I thought the MultiDly block might be able to get a close ambient sound.
Looking for help getting the Multi Delay block to sound like the Plex Verb.
Like which model in the MulitDly block to choose?
I'm going for a nice long ambient sound with the time length about 10 seconds.
I Plan to use it in parallel.
Thanks!
