Comparison Bias/Axe FX II with rectifier presets

Hi guys, Obviously Bias can't sounds as good as the axe fx II and both devices don't have the same price. Here the idea with this test it to show how fast you can achieve a good sounds with basic rectifier presets. You can also use this sound as an argument for those who think that bias...

The fas modern is better in a mix context, the snare drum have a nice presence with this amp. I prefer the 2, way more balanced IMO.

I agree with you rex. Personally i like that the sonic differences come from the amp block and the drive block more than the cab block. For exemple, i use the FAS modern dans the other guitarist in my band use the DAS metal but with the same IRs combinaison than me (but with small differents...

Of course it's not a brickwall lol, i record a riff with my patch and hopefully, i have still some frequencies above 5Khz lol.:) AC/DC is a mid gain exemple and harmonic content is very different in comparison with high gain tone especially above 10Khz where very distorted have some fizzy...

Live tone EQ tip

Humain ear have a lot of sensibilty between 1Khz and 6Khz. For a goog guitar sound in live, boost between 1Khz and 2Khz (1,6Khz is the ideal frequency for me) and cut some muddy frequencies between 300Hz and 500Hz.

The bright knob is very helpfull to add definition to your sound. The choice of the good IR is crucial too. 5153 seems to be really adapted to this type of sound.

High Gain Live Sound

Hello, i recently read on ask.fm that most bands using high gain patches are cuting the bass and treble to 120hz between 6kHz or 5Khz on the cab block. What do you think of that ? It seems a little extreme to me. Misha mansoor about the cuts in live "I believe we are passing low at 5500...

A little Hiss

It's normal and it's more pronounced when using high gain patches, set the input noise gate, it will fix it.;)

Super Smash Bros. Metal!!

Sounds good but it will sound better with a bass guitar too;). Maybe, the reverb is a little bit to intense on the snare drum.

Nazgul is more tight and clear, emg sounds fuller but muddy.

Live Performance Presets

The secret for live presets at really loud volume IMO, instead of studio presets, is to cut a lot of extra low and extra high frequencies. You can use the low cut and high cut of the cab block or a PEQ or a filter block.
