    wet/dry/wet question

Thanks for all the help with setting this up, and I got a bit confused at first when talking about outputs 1 & 2, I didn't realize at first you and others were talking about ouput blocks in relation to the outputs on the back of the FM3, for some reason I was confusing "outputs" with channels...
  5. Black Fox

    wet/dry/wet question

ok, o then there would be little to no additional wattage brought on by the power amps? if so, then three 50-watt or 60-watt watt cabs should do I'd think
  6. Black Fox

    wet/dry/wet question

gotcha, also one other thing, and i'm not sure you know the answer to this, but the power amps i'd be using at rated at 50 watts, can I assume the minimum wattage for speakers would thus be 50 watts, or would going for somewhat high wattage cabs be safer since wattage increases with distortion?
  7. Black Fox

    wet/dry/wet question

ok cool, I see now, looks like there are options in the global settings to set certain output options as needed
  8. Black Fox

    wet/dry/wet question

here, me me post a pic of what I have in mind if I think it's possible, let me know if this would work
  9. Black Fox

    wet/dry/wet question

I mean this is pretty much what I am trying to go for, minus the whole convoluted setup they have going on here, my approach if it works would only use a mono and stereo power amps, an FM3, and 3 cabs, no need for all those cables, ground loop hum and noise, tone sucking cable length and nothing...
  10. Black Fox

    wet/dry/wet question

true BUT I'm wanting 3 separate channels including a dry signal, one for dry/mono straight down the middle, and two panned hard left and right for the stereo "wet" effects to be mixed in as desired, I was not sure if the XLR outputs could have their separate outputs, or were just identical...
  11. Black Fox

    wet/dry/wet question

I'm wonder if the FM3 MKII Turbo can output 3 separate channels to some power amps to then drive 3 guitar cabinets, I know that the FM 3 has stereo outputs for both 1/4 jacks, and XLR stereo outputs, could I use the two 1/4 jacks for the "wet" effects to a stereo power amp, say like a Fryette...

  15. Black Fox

    Scene/Channel/Preset Switching with Expression pedal?

huh... I have no idea what a external momentary switch is or how to use it
  16. Black Fox

    Scene/Channel/Preset Switching with Expression pedal?

ah heck your right, sounds like it would be more trouble than it's worth, and what small/cheap midi foots switchers would be smaller that say a mission engineering ep-1?
  17. Black Fox

    Scene/Channel/Preset Switching with Expression pedal?

yeah I'd prefer to switch scenes and channels rather than presets anyhow, my rationale for this would be to use this to get maximum potential out of my FM3 without using an extra midi foot controller in the meantime and just use the 3 buttons on the FM3 for presets, and use an expression to...
  18. Black Fox

    Scene/Channel/Preset Switching with Expression pedal?

Not sure if this has been answered yet, but is there a way to switch scenes, channels, or presets within a signal preset in the FM3 with an expression pedal?

  21. Black Fox

    Second Turbo...

haha nooo give it to me! XD
  22. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

I'm sure in time I'll want more presets i can quickly access since i would want to make non standard sounds, but for now I'll just learn more basic stuff since I'm rather inexperienced when it comes to playing guitar
  23. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

Yeah perhaps, I'll know more in time, I'm sure I'll love it for now without a foot controller
  24. Black Fox

  28. Black Fox

Best Powered PA Speaker System for the FM3?

yeah I don't feel like drilling unless I know what I am doing which I don't, those rubber feet will do for now, and yeah a small dolly would work
  29. Black Fox

Best Powered PA Speaker System for the FM3?

nice! I wonder if I could add locking roller wheels to the bottom on the EVs? That would make them easy to move on stages
  30. Black Fox

Best Powered PA Speaker System for the FM3?

i'm in California, so I think there would be some state tax, but i'm not sure how that would work since i'm not in NH

  32. Black Fox

Best Powered PA Speaker System for the FM3?

yeah these will be my "next" item for my FM3 after I get a decent foot controller, i'm looking at the Voes MX-18
  33. Black Fox

Best Powered PA Speaker System for the FM3?

wow those look really nice! Wow so many options It's really hard to know without hearing them firsthand, but Electro-Voice is a good company from what I have heard so I can't go wrong with these option either
  34. Black Fox

Best Powered PA Speaker System for the FM3?

Yeah the Atomic CLR Active Cabs look like the best bang for buck, I could get two for less than 2k
  35. Black Fox

  40. Black Fox

Excited !! Fm3 mkll on the way

Just ordered mine! I can't wait to noodle on mine! Well noodle on the guitar that is, don't noodle your FM3 lol
  41. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

Also, I got studio monitors, a Mission Engineering EP-1, and a good kick ass guitar to boot, all I need now is a good foot controller for patches, but holy cow my "fun" funds are really depleted now, this will have to come later lol
  42. Black Fox

AFIII Revv Purple and Dynacab 1960TV

ok NOW I get what people mean be "amp in the room" sound, I really love the tone! Wait.... this was all directly reordered into a PC I assume? It sounds so much like it was reordered in a real room, I guess that is the power of the Dynacab right?
  46. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

no, I only rent the house, or rather a room in said house, but yes, I do plan on getting some devices for power management
  47. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

oh yeah I know that, I didn't mean use both of them together, sorry I miss-worded that
  48. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

the power in my old house is rather spotty, lights often dim out of nowhere, or if other things are running, and sometimes just flat out make the circuit breakers trip, so yeah I may need a new power strip and those conditioners
  49. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

ok! Thanks for the info, I may also want to get a power strip for the monitors and PC so I can further deduce hum noise? or would the usb A/D+D/A boxes be good enough for now?
  50. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

I was trying to hook them up to my PC's "line in" 1/8 jack, and yes, I only have onboard audio if I understand what that is, I suppose these monitors will have to be saved for just the FM3 once I get one, i was aware that the sound quality would not be the best, but I didn't know there would be...
  51. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

also, what 3.5 mm TRS to Dual XLR Male Pro Stereo Breakout Cable would you recommend so I can hook up the monitors to my PC? Or would that not be the best way to go about that? I bought theses ones , but I think they are garbage since I am hearing what I think is 50hz to 60hz hum cycle or some...

ok yeah you are problay right, I'll wait till I have the cash outright, this should be in a few months, maybe sooner, in the mean time i'm setting up my guitar to how I like it
  54. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

i'm looking at this mint FM3 on Reverb right now that I can pay for each month, i'm REALLY temped, but not sure if I should considering it's not sold from Fractal Audio, i'm always a bit weary about this, but the price, reviews, and return policy looks right, tell me what you think if I should...
  56. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

oh yeah my monitors have XLR inputs for sure, so i'm all good
  57. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

So I got my new Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones today, they are soooo nice! And the studio monitors will have to wait to be used once I get my FM3, I assume the FM3 is compatible with studio monitors right? I see two XLR outputs on the FM3, so I guess that is what that is for.
  58. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

Yeah agreed, I'll just work a bit more overtime to save up for the FM3, with the money I got now i'll put towards a few other items i'll need before I get the FM3, like those rubber bumpers for my studio monitors that jamesmarshall mentioned and maybe a better wireless system for my guitar
  59. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

In fact you know what, I will just end up getting the FM3 instead when it is back in stock, I'll just pay off my guitar in the mean time. But I do really appreciate all the feedback! It's been really educational!
  60. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

All good points, I'll think about this... But last night i just found out that the extra money I'm supposed to get next month from my friend buying a painting from me in order to help get me buy the Axe FX III may not happen after all, turns out he messed up doing his taxes and owns the...
  61. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

also, next month i'll only have enough money for the MKII but not the Turbo, is there expected to be a sale soon? I'm only short by 215 dollars from the Turbo, and i'd really love to get the cream of the crop if I can!
  62. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

well no mater, I should have some more money in April, so I don't need them right this minute
  63. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

after buying those monitors, headphones and etc. i'd not have enough to but those "1" Dia Sorbothane Hemisphere Rubber Bumper Non-Skid Feet" and the AXE FX III MKII, would these work just the same?
  64. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

pretty sure i'll be ok with 10 footers since it's gonna be all located at my PC desk which is 8 feet by 3 feet
  65. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

and I bought the headphones, sutido monitors, and XLR cables, now to wait till April and i'll buy the Axe FX II MKII
  66. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

ok gotcha, I wasn't sure how long I needed my cables since I didn't know what my setup would be like yet, so I figured 20 feet would cover me, but you are most likely right that 6 to 10 feet will be good in my room, and thanks for that link for those cables!
  67. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

cool! And i think these are the right type of XLR cables correct? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/XLR20--pro-co-exm-20-excellines-microphone-cable-20-foot
  68. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

ok, I thought as much, now I'm just trying to figure out if the pair of speakers come with the power cables, I don't seen any info on the page at Sweetwater if they do or not
  69. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

Noted! I'll keep this in mind when setting everything up, so I assume the speakers take a cabel of a certain sort? I'm still new to all this, what kind of cables will I need to send an audio single from the Axe FX III to the speakers, would it be XLR cables I assume?
  70. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

well my room is 10 feet by 20 feet so I will have only so much space to figure where they will sound the best
  71. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

so turns out I WILL have enough money for a Axe FX III MKII and these headphones https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DT770pro80 and enough left over to buy these, are these the Kali KP6's you talked about that would do me right...
  72. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

Well i just plan on using my Axe FX III in my bedroom with a laptop on top of it to use axe edit till i can get a proper foot controller board, again, I'm mainly going to focus on relatively simple patches for practicing for now, so i wont be doing oodles of on the fly patch switching at all...

  74. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

ok, I really have no idea what the hertz are for guitars, so I was admitly clueless on this, hence why I asked about the subwoofers, but yeah 80Hz does not seem like it would ever been needed for guitars, but, I wonder what it would be for bass guitars?
  75. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

Well i'll get the turbo next month and I got enough left for some nice headphones, then i'll work on saving up for some nice studio monitors, but... do I need a subwoofer included with a pair of studio monitors?
  76. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

nice to have many inexpensive options!

  79. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

I mean I think i'll do this for now, either way i'll be getting an Axe FX III and will be happy!
  80. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

I hear ya on future proofing the Axe FX III by getting the turbo, only thing is, I only have enough money for the turbo and no good headphones, or the standard with nice headphone, unless.... I use the 80 dollar JVC headphone I have in the mean time so I can buy the turbo and use headphones
  81. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

not yet! I may want to buy a cable if the wireless plugs sound like garbage, i'll know once I get the Axe FX III
  82. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

l will consider this upgrade if the wired headphone don't jive with me, thanks for all the info everyone! also I happen to have wireless guitar plugs as well for home use, I bought these https://www.ebay.com/itm/303870897178
  83. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

yeah I'm thinking just the standard for now will suffice, and IF there is an Axe FX IV i'll upgrade to that once I build some proper chops
  84. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

I just plan on "getting good" ;)
  85. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

right now I can only afford this one since most of my money will be going towards the Axe FX III https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DT770pro80--beyerdynamic-dt-770-pro-80-ohm-closed-back-studio-mixing-headphones
  86. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

ok gotcha, seems the standard Axe FX III can still pull a lot, and I assume you mean these headphones? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ATHM50x--audio-technica-ath-m50x-closed-back-studio-monitoring-headphones also maybe you can take a snapshot of what you consider "complex" for you and...
  87. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

no, I do no I don't have any studio monitors, should I just go with wired headphone in the mean time, and if so what kind would you recommend? Also how "low latency" would wireless headphones have to be? I don't think i'd need "crazy elaborate" presets, so I think the standard should do for me
  88. Black Fox

    Before I pull the trigger...

So i'm going to buy the Axe FX III next month, but I got two important questions, what would be the benefits of the Turbo vs the stock Axe FX III in practice, i.e. does 25% more clock speed really going to to help in most sisuations for a newbie like me? And would wireless headphones like these...
