First preset gets deleted when switching to it from another preset

I had the same issue. Turned out user cab bank 2 was somehow corrupted (?). Fixed it by choosing "Erase All User Cabs" from Setup/Utilities, then restoring the user cab backup by loading the cabs from the Manage Cabs window.

Thanks! :) Great. Unfortunately, "polling your Axe Fx III" is very slow (using FW 16 beta 2). Takes about a minute per preset. (Asking for cab/preset names only takes a few seconds.)

Anyone having problems backing up with Fractal-Bot? I always get a "Message timeout" error when "Foot Controller Settings Only" is being backed up. If I uncheck this option in the Backup Type window, the backup completes successfully.

Another issue: When converting cabs to individual cab files, the file is not created if the cab name includes an illegal filename character (eg. asterisk and slash).

Found a couple of small issues when opening Axe III cab banks and exporting to individual cab files: 1. The file numbering starts at 000, not 001 2. The file numbering uses 3 digits for cabs up to #999. This means that cabs 1000-1024 are not listed last when the files are sorted alphabetically...

Spent some more time with it. Like it *a lot* better with IRs instead of the cab block. Unfortunately, using IRs is extremely cumbersome.

What would you be willing to pay for a VST version of AXE FX?

They already use iLok to protect CabLab and the reverb plugin (no dongle required, though). Since the FAS reverb plugin alone costs $200, I doubt that is going to happen.

The built in cabs are not that good, sounds better with IRs. Unfortunately the IR handing is kind of clumsy compared to other software modelers (and Axe FX/Edit for that matter).

Tight metal rhythm

Which cab pack would you recommend for getting a tight metal rhythm sound? Not 7 string djent sounds, but classic metal tuned to E/Eb (think Metallica, Slayer, Maiden, etc.).
