    Unity Gain with Palm Mutes

For me, big spikes in palm mutes is a sign that I've got slightly too much bass dialed in. This easily catch me out if I am dialing in tones at low volumes or on headphone/monitors that are lacking in bass response. Try backing off the bass and see if things improve, but obviously if it is...

    DI sound with AxeFX?

I thought the Axe FX only had two outputs? I believe it is possible for your DAW to record the Axe FX input (1 or 2) signal which negates the need for a second row of shunts and panning. I believe this is possible because I accidently selected the wrong input source on my track in pro tools...

    DI sound with AxeFX?

Hi Rik, Yes, that would work. You could also merge the DI signal back to one row after the AMP and CAB block should you wish the DI signal to be affected by effects blocks. What's the end goal here? To play live with a blend of amped tone and a DI signal, or to record a separate clean DI track...

    Pick the real amp...

#2 is definitely my favourite in terms of how it sits in the mix, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is the real amp. The other 4 clips seem share this low mid range quality, but #5 has some sweet saturation going on in the top end. So I'm going to say #5 is the real amp.

This is a common problem with tweaking preset at low volume which is due to the Flecture Munson effect. Do a Google search and read up on it. Basically, as you increase volume (we're talking SPL here), the human perceives low and high frequencies as more prominent. At lower volumes, low and...

ReAmping - USB vs SPDIF - whats the difference?

I might be totally wrong, but if I have understood from other posts on this forum, the SPDIF method allows you to re-amp and tweak your tones on the AxeFx whilst you are in the mix i.e. on playback through your DAW. I don't believe this scenario is possible with re-amping via USB. Although I...
