Why do some IR's and DynaCab's seem to compress more than others?

That’s a good tip. Easy to listen with headphones without preamp vs with added preamp distortion if your preamp has a headphone output. I thought the Mic+Pre IR shoot method would neutralize that, but realized that’s not the case. Shooting your own IR’s is a lot of fun if you have a great...

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 24.04 Release

I know, just trying to figure out which delay type is most true to my pedal and was confused because I wasn’t sure what the Vintage Digital Delay actually was. My DDL is really close with Bit Reduction set to 13 and high cut set to 5kHz, no matter if the bit depth is right or not.
  22. aens

    Axe-Fx III Firmware 24.04 Release

I guess the Vintage Digital Delay is modeled after 70’s digital delay architecure. At least my Ibanez DDL (8-bit) does not degrade as much as the model does, but that’s made around 1985, which is 14 years after the first digital delay units are created. Found this sound sample of a mid 70’s...

Quick question about the Vintage Digital Delay: manual says the bitrate is set lower with this type (16 bit maybe?). If so, setting the Bit Reduction to 8 it becomes 8 bit? Right? Brit 800 2204 vs 2203 thoughts

Sent you a PM about this 🙂 Vintage digital delay (especially 8-bit like the Ibanez DDL) kind of makes the 2203 sound even more grittier and nasty with enough master volume. I disagree with you, especially when some manufacturers use EQ’d or smoothened IRs.
