Lets here some sample rate reduction tunes!

I haven't seen anyone putting that sample rate reduction to use except the preview shown by adamcook. Someone hurry up and Sample reduce, attach a pitch shifter and LFO to an expression pedal slap some reverb heck throw on a vocoder on it and get some growling guitars/bass. I just wanna see...

    Dry track recording

In your daw create an automation track that transmits MIDI to the axefx assign the values acordingly to your patch. Reamp and now you should have complete control when effects kick in or you can use automation for a pedal up/down. No need to split the track up. Hope this helps.

[DJENT] I've never djented this hard before (patch included)

Damn dude your recording/mixing/tonemaking has improved so much. I was listening to this on computer speakers so I can't tell if it's too trebly or gainy but there are some parts where that sizzle does get annoying. The guitars have this hollow sound to them that I like. As for trying to get...

Making the leap to a Macbook Pro. What Apps??

I wonder if the new macbook pros had the kernel panic issues sorted out. I have a Mid 2010 and it panics at random and I know the 2011's did the same. I hope apple care will replace mine for me.

I am so tired to the Tube Vs Axe FxII debate.

The worst is when you hear the comparisons on youtube and people say the axefx sounds way off and "digital" but if you look at the method of recording the amp is going through a cab and mic and axe fx is direct, of course they will sound different the ideal comparison should use a loadbox on the...

Tone Matching Guitars pickups and wood?

Haha thanks I don't own an axefx yet so I can't try it :( so I was hoping others could test it out. Oh and by resonating the guitar, I was referring to the whole conversation of how Direct recordings are sterile because of no speaker is resonating the guitar and strings. Just thought I'd clear...

Tone Matching Guitars pickups and wood?

Can you take your guitar and record DI only (with something resonating the guitar) then tone match to be set as a PEQ. I know some of the feel won't be there but I might be close and people can exchange tone matched guitar patches.

Difference between Axe-FX and virtual instrument programs

The Axefx is no laptop but it is a piece of technology and like all technology it will be replaced for something with more power but not at the rate of normal computers. The axefx is solid and if you take care of it, it will last. People are still using the old Axefx Standard. As for...

Difference between Axe-FX and virtual instrument programs

You can still record direct but the point I'm trying to make is while recording direct you may find that things will sound better when you have a amp playing towards your guitar because of the previous effect I stated. The amp doesn't have to be recorded it's just there to resonate your guitar...

Difference between Axe-FX and virtual instrument programs

What Rex is getting at, is when you play your guitar in a live setting FRFR or CAB the sound couples into the guitar and resonates your guitar, this adds depth to the sound. When you record direct you lose out on this resonating effect and the tone can sound lifeless and sterile. A lot of people...

Has anyone notice the tuner ball when a page loads?

Yeah it does it with every page when I refresh or some times load a page. Some sites are quicker than others. I assume Firefox is showing you sending a request for a site then receiving the site information. Just a guess though.

Not my first, but my best Axe II recording (Hardcore/Punk)

Sounds like The Ghost inside. How much gain in going on in the guitar I hear a bit o' fizz and some clipping in the song. It's a great start though. :D

Who's using two amps in a patch?

I always wondered if you took one amp that handles the bottom end a lot better do a huge low pass and then take a nice high end sounding amp and do a high pass, pan it all to the center and you got blended amps. Don't own an axefx yet so I don't know.

    Comparing Raw Amps

Has anyone done comparisons between the axe fx II recorded with no cabs sims on and the real counterpart amp using a loadbox, to compare the sound of the the raw amps with no coloration. If not, I love to hear some of those comparisons even if the results won't be sonically pleasing. Oh and on...

AxeII + DAW levels during recording

Couldn't the OP slap a gain trim plugin on the track to get it to a suitable level? Or is the OP not monitoring from his daw?

Trying to get a Within the Ruins type of tone, clip inside! (afx2/bkp)

Roll off the gain and treble a bit you'd be surprised how little gain is actually used in tones but your really close. Most the time in the studio guitars are double or quad tracked. In the case of quad tracking I know of a technique where you take a really high gain sound and mix it with a low...

    Tone Matching=highly processed tone?

So that clears the air on my thinking that the master of a song would affect dynamics since it's only an EQ curve there is no compression going on unless you want to slap some compression/multiband compression on there.

    Tone Matching=highly processed tone?

I'm not saying it's a bad thing on the contrary it's a very good thing. In my head I think of using the axe fx from a mixing engineers perspective. So if more people know that their beloved tone from whatever musician is a combination of cabs, mics, heavy eq and compression it can get axe fx...

    Tone Matching=highly processed tone?

With tone matching wont you essentially be taking the sound of something that has been processed by the mixing engineer/mastering engineer? So all the surgical eq, mic type/placement, compressors and magic is made to your tone. In reality a tone matched guitar is a highly processed guitar tone...

    Possibilities of midi

Don't know if this has been discussed before but I was wondering has anyone tried a wireless route with midi on the axe fx 2 and if there were stability issues? To be clear, a midi device that sends midi data through the midi port on the axe fx 2 but has blue tooth connectivity to receive...

New 8 string metal song idea and testing my Axe FX II and Agile Intrepid 830

There's some nice ideas in that mix I quite liked it. As for the mix it is very muddy (like you said) and bass heavy. Dial back on the gain maybe high pass, low pass you know all the usual suspects get the tone where you like it and fit the mix. Also I had a question are you panning any of the...

Question about studio monitors and the AxeFx2

Hello everyone, I've been a long time lurker on the forum, soaking up as much information I can about fractal products before I decide to buy. Currently I'm looking to run the Axe Fx with Adam a7x's. I'm wondering if running the Axe Fx through studio monitors will have any detrimental effects on...
