Kemper Player is out, so pretty much all the competition now has a mini 3 button product… still no Fractal FM3 Lite???

FM3 may be the best affordable modeller, but it's not lightweight by today's standards. Almost any other new modeller weights less than FM3 by great degree. Still really want to buy FM3 Mini or something like that for grab-and-go purposes. Kemper Profile Player may be the way to go, but I would...

Wireless System from Guitar to FM3

X2 XDS95. Best cheap wireless ever in my opinion. Never had even a single problem with it for 12 years of usage. Can not notice difference to a good cable with it too.

Why Fractal don't use aluminium for product chassis ?

Weight of FM3 is OK if you take only it with you to the trip. The problem is that you'll NEVER take FM3 alone. You always have your guitar, bag with clothes, other equipment etc, etc. And when you carry all your stuff by yourself - each kilogram matters. Don't suggest me to get a car or taxi...

Both. Sennheisers HD800 as headphones. And I do have studio monitors (not too fancy ones). The main problem is that I need to tweak amp models a lot to get satisfactory sound. Just want to get to some "easy" amp models.

Yes, so it looks like problem is in FM3 driver. DAW gets info for latency compensation from device driver. In this case, this info is incorrect. I never had this kind of issue with AXE FX 2, HX Stomp or any of my other USB sound cards.

Thanks, but those kind of solutions are more like a pair of crutches, sorry. Fractal-level quality device should work without such kind of problems, that's why I created this thread - to report the problem. Problem should get it's fix.

Yes, I understand. But why HX Stomp works just fine without any additional settings to latency... and FM3 did not. I always thought that latency compensation is something that should work on-the-fly.

Soundcard is set to clock slave. Still clicks are present. And all this doesn't explain why there are clicks when I record via FM3 using USB (no SPDIF at all). Recorded guitar sound is full of clicks. I think it's something wrong regarding this "ASIO not active" message in FM3 control panel...

SPDIF is not guarantee that it is possible to get direct-signal of guitar from it for re-amping because as far as I know - SPDIF is stereo out. So all you get is stereo processed signal, no direct guitar signal. Maybe I'm wrong. Still waiting for OFFICIAL confirmation that AX8 will not have USB...

About transformers, DSP power etc - just open your AXE 2 and see what's inside. You will be surprised to see just few small PCBs. And any modern latest smartphone has CPUs which are faster than AXE's CPUs. So, it IS possible to make AXE smaller and lighter.

Haha :) Actually, Line6 stuff is quite heavy too. Take a POD HD500 and walk with it, guitar, bag of cables etc for about 3-4 kilometers through the city by foot. Especially at hot summer day :)

I think 3-4kg is ideal weight for AX8. And I'm sure this is possible even without titanium. Steel chassis of quite thin steel (much thinner than AXE FX 2's chassis), but reinforced inside by reinforcement plates. It still will be indestructible. And I think anyone who don't care about weight...

Agree that carrying AX8 is an advantage over carrying AXE 2 or regular rig of amps and pedals. But why should it be just advantage if it could be GREAT advantage ? Why are you not looking even beyond that ? AX8 is not the only thing you take with on rehearsal or gig. You still carry your guitar...

I don't think that titanium chassis will add much cost to AX8, especially when we know this is not cheap piece of gear. But if it still be steel - costs can be even cut down a bit if thinner steel will be used for chassis.

That means you are not carrying gear with you on tours, I guess. When touring - weight of every piece of equipment is important. For home or studio use - I agree, weight is not important, as is durability. For stationary use I think regular AXE FX 2 is better than AX8.

AX8 - Any Updates?

I'm visiting gym regularly. Anyway, huge and heavy AXE FX 2 in rack case - is not something you are really happy to carry by hand for long distances. And the idea that I'm moving excess of steel is really annoying. AXE FX 2 is ideal product, except one thing - the WEIGHT. It will be really nice...

AX8 - Any Updates?

Bullet proof and lightweight CAN be delivered at once - if it will be titanium chassis. Even if it will be steel - thinner steel than rack AXE FX 2 chassis is still more than enough to live happily in any live or road situations. By the way, AX8 is made for rehearsal or small club live...

AX8 - Any Updates?

I don't want indestructible, I want portable :-) I'm very kind to my equipment and babying it all the time. Don't understand why AX8 should be made of tank-like thick steel. It is made for making music, not for war. By the way, titanium chassis is the answer if it need to be light and robust.

Any news regarding the weight of the AX8 ? That's the most important factor which I'm waiting for to be revealed... I'm hoping for 3-4 kG of weight, not more. It is portable AXE-FX, it must be portable in all aspects! Otherwise, weight will be main flaw and put me from buying((((

Thanks for the link! I didn't know that cab block can be placed after effects like delay and reverb.... I thought that cab block adds something like speaker distortion, so all the effects should go after the cab. But anyway, with one amp it is impossible to leave power amp sim on for Output 1...

Metronome clicks come through to my guitar tracks when recording with AXE II
