Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I've tried that however I'm switching to a different tone within the preset which needs to be dry so the delay and reverb get bypassed when placed after the loop... I might have to look at simplifying the preset to be able to free up some resources to be able to...

How do you increase your guitars volume when playing a solo?

I change scene which adds extra preamp gain, amp level, a slight mid boost, as well as delay and/or reverb, depending on the tone.

For those of you that go direct to the PA.. do you also have your own FRFR solution on stage?

My main gig is Top 40 covers so i have 4 core tones - Acoustic/Piezo, Clean, Overdriven and Dirty. Each one of those core tones has variations using scenes in the way of effects etc... I own a lot of 3rd party cabs (Redwirez and Ownhammer) and my main 'go to' has always been a Marshall 1960A...

Yep, I bought an ASM12 in December. I've been running IEMs for well over a decade and always loved the consistency of being able to be anywhere on a big stage and having a perfect mix but decided to get the ASM12 for monitoring and programming sounds at home. I loved what I was hearing sooo much...

Have you played AX8 live with no issues on the lag; without compensating in anyway?

I've used it live on about 40 shows since I've had it... I've never had any issues with switching or limitations.. My main gig is a Corporate Cover Band, playing Top40 and Party Classics. I use 4 main presets that all have variations through the use of I/A switches and there's 2 or 3 song...

UAD Apollo Plugin Questions

I'm using Cubase and have used the Cubase Plugin Manager to not display any UAD plugins (this is done manually) that I haven't purchased so i know that anything in my UAD list is available to use... presumably other DAWs have a plugin manager?

Anyone tracking with Apollo?

I love my Apollo Duo! I tracked our entire Album (Earthling777) with it in Cubase... Here's a track that features the AxeFXii... in fact I even recorded the "bass line" that you hear from the intro and throughout with my guitar and pitch shifted it with the AxeFxii. Here's another that is all...

Probably a dumb question but here goes.

Yep, easiest way is to use Ax8 Edit and navigate to the Footswitch Button where you will see a graphical representation of the 8 switches... you can set them up Globally (hit the Global button) which would suit what you want, then just right click each button and assign it to the desired preset...

Recording video

I use the 5Dmkiii (and I have a couple of larger Sony broadcast quality NX Cams) for most stuff these days but also have a Canon T4 (650D) which is excellent providing you use a reasonable lens... I've recorded commercial promos with it and a Canon 35mm 1.4 Lens... really stunning footage.

CPU...not so bad

I haven't had any issues with CPU yet.. I play predominately live and opt for delays and only minimal reverb as I find that sounds don't cut through the mix so well with too much reverb... My main dirt tone has Amp, Cab, Phaser, Flanger, Chorus (not all at once), Delay and Reverb and between...

Correct me if i'm wrong but that preset uses the Wah block... much easier to set up but not much good if you want Pedal Wah and Auto Wah in the same preset. Using a Filter Block is the best solution.

Yeah, iPhone 4s won't give you HD and the front facing camera is fairly poor quality... only really suitable for face timing... The GoPro's are great quality and the app will allow you to monitor what you are seeing... a camera such as this will serve many situations beyond this type of video...

Dunlop Mini Volume Pedal

I got myself a Hotone Soul Press which is a Mini Wah/Volume/Expression all in one and it is fabulous! I get full sweep of the range and it works great! If you're looking for a compact controller, definitely worth a look IMO.

Delay in stereo

Even if it's a mono delay, you could attach an LFO modifier to the Echo Pan for more interesting stereo fx... Just ensure your AX8 is set to Stereo in the I/O menu.

Anyone upgraded to 3.02 yet?

Love the new display options and everything sounds great! The only thing to look out for is that AX8 Edit now auto pauses when you operate from the hardware and doesn't seem to sync with what is happening on the hardware which has caused me (and others apparently) to accidentally overwrite some...

This is precisely how i have it set up... I'd recommend using the AX8 Edit software which makes setting this up a breeze! I have the bottom row presets with the currently selected preset toggle between scene 1 & 2 and the top row scene's 3, 4, 5 and 6

That's true if bank up/down is all you require however i have F2 set to Scene Select and F3 set to tap tempo... so in fact the way i have it set extends the functionality but definitely a single tap bank up/down is a nice idea.

It must be how you have it set up... when i select my Bank (F1) Switch, I get a list of presets within each bank that i can scroll to with F2 and F3. I have F1 Tap set to Single Preset/Bank and F2 and F3 then function as Bank Up/Down respectively..

So you should be reversing your min and max rather than the Start/Mid/End. The Mid is the key for setting the fretted position, whereas the Min/Max settings change the 'polarity' of the effect... The principle of what you're trying to achieve is do-able but the reality is that it won't sound...

So it looks like your settings are very different to mine... check out the video again, you'll see that my start is 0 and end is 100 and i'm adjusting the mid for the fret position. You'll probably need to wind down the offset a bit too.

I'd say that it is more than likely Word Clock sync issue... I'm not familiar with the Focusrite but make sure your clock settings are set for the SPDIF in your Focusrite console preferences.

Not very well... if you're playing polyphonically the pitch tracking gets confused and just tries to track everything so it'll give you an octave up on all strings regardless of where your crossover is...

I have created a preset that utilises Pitch Modifiers so that any notes played above the B 12th fret will have an Octave below added, along with some level, delay and reverb. It works pretty well... for a short time, and then something happens that can only be described as an alien invasion...

Not a CPU issue... Here is a video i did showing the problem. You can clearly hear it in the Jr Blues but not when i switch to the Friedman HB. It is not present in the Jr Blues once the controller is disconnected. Also noted it with the Atomica Amp. Hopefully @FractalAudio can check it out...

Only had my AX8 for a few days now and it's awesome but the switching delay is definitely one of the things that annoys me... I already know there are songs that i play live where this will be a problem.. I don't recall this being an issue with my AxeFX2 or Ultra either...

Spillover...

Okay, I've figured out what's happening... Hitting the Preset Switch is resetting the preset back to it's saved state... I can go from my 'Pad' (Scene 4) directly to Scene 1 with spillover by hitting the Scene 1/2 toggle

What's your footswitch setup?

I'm still waiting for my AX8 to arrive but correct if i'm wrong... couldn't the X/Y state of a preset simulate this? So for example, if you wanted to toggle switch 3 between an overdriven rhythm and lead, you could set all your parameters for the Y state such as increased gain, EQ On, delay...

I haven't been able to fully determine the answer to this from the manual however I'm interested if anyone knows whether it's possible to configure the switches so that the bottom 4 act as preset selection whilst the top 4 work as I/A switches for the selected preset?
