Wish Informative status on main display

I'd love to see some alternatives to providing something on the main display besides the preset and scenes plus the micro-tuner. Something that helps me as a user know what the status is of the preset I am on. Allowing the Layout grid to be shown at all times, even after a preset change, but...

Bug? Block bypass/engage not showing on layout when triggered by CS

I ran into this one while trying to create some ways to avoid the "this thing is triggered, but you don't know it" issue I have with the FM9 display when using it live. For example, I have several presets where a Control Switch triggers a couple of different blocks. I had hoped that maybe just...

Way to trigger 2 FX with one button?

Hi, all, I'm new to the FM9, but used to doing this with an RJM Mastermind on an AxeFX. I'd like to be able to trigger both Drive 1 and the Filter 1 block at the same time, so that if I hit the FM9 button that turns on Drive 1, Filter 1 is no longer bypassed. But I'm having a hard time figuring...

Fixed Set delay envelop parameter to pitch follower/fast crashes AxeEdit and USB?

Tried this twice, and it seems repeatable. If the update rate is slow, it works as it should. Setting it to fast seems to crash AxeEdit, then communication timeouts after restarting AxeEdit. Only way to rectify it is to restart the AxeFX. AxeFX3, non-turbo, USB connection to Mac Studio, AxeEdit...

Thank you Kamil Kisiel (tempo sysex)

Just wanted to give a shout out to @Kamil Kisiel . I've been setting up Bandhelper for an upcoming show, including sending tempo changes. He cleverly and helpfully put together this gem of an online app that gave me exactly what I needed but couldn't figure out myself. Thank you sincerely! I...

Importing to U.S. via Thomann…duties? Issues?

This is a bit off topic, but I’m hoping y’all can offer some advice. I found a deal at Thomann, so I’m wanting to have about $2000 worth of gear shipped. They promptly sent an email that basically said “Are you sure? Customs and duty fees are going to be hard!” I’ve not done this before, and...

True temperament guitars in Portland, OR?

Strange question, but...my ear is really sensitive, I guess. I struggle with intonation on all of my guitars. High ratio locking tuners

    Mikko's Suhr IR's (G12-65)

Hi, I bought this pack from Fractal way back when, but now it is no longer available. Here's the problem: I messed up putting these in my AxeFX3 somehow, so they have a long "tail" ahead of them. IIRC, this happens when you don't select minimum phase transform or something like that when...

    Sanity check, please.

Got a new (to me) Jazz bass, so I thought I'd try experimenting with a bit of bass overdrive, a la Geddy Lee. So I created a preset with a couple of different scenes, one of which was going to try a crossover into a filter block on one side, and an overdrive pedal on the other. The other preset...

Has the SIC graphic changed scale?

I swear I previously saw the low frequency resonance peak as usually higher than the HF resonance peak. Now it almost looks like they're the same, that the HF line doesn't roll off on the graph as it used to, and the peaks aren't as prominent. That's both in AxeEdit and on the hardware screen...

Cut feature on amp block, anyone?

Does anyone else find this extremely useful, or am I underestimating the amount of bass needed for FRFR and a mixable sound in a band context? I find I use that switch on almost every amp I try. And I often find that I also bump the low-cut filter up on the input EQ as well. Both of these...

Sound when amp block bypassed with mute

Hi, I started a new preset, based on an existing one. Wish Greater control over amount of boost in amp block

Love the ability to use boost in the amp block. It seems like there is a lot of variance in how much volume is actually boosted into the amp between the various types. I’d expect some of that, I suppose, since the area under the curve being boosted depends on the breadth of the frequencies...

Normalize volume behavior in Cab block

I'm actually not sure whether this is a bug or a wish. Or both. I doubt this is a bug, more likely it is "authentic." But... On amps where I use high cut (e.g. Morgan, Maz, etc.), I find that I can't hear much of an impact at all until I get the high cut control up to around 7 or 8. So finding the sweet spot often has me setting that around 9 or higher...

    Dumble Classic tone stack

Just wondering if anyone knows which tone stack alternative might be closest to the pre-Skyliner ODS stack? Just going by ear, I'm guessing that the Super 6G4 centered around 500Hz is close to my classic ODS build, but I'm wondering if there is something closer?

    Fixed Tweed Deluxe issue Q8b

I'd like somebody else to verify this. I'm using the 5E3 Deluxe block in an authentic way (MV on 10, only adjusting the treble control), and in 7.02 it sounded great. Upgraded to 8.0 Beta, and now there is a buzzy distortion over the first half second or so of every note. It then suddenly...

    Optical compressor in actual use

So I like the sound and feel of the new optical compressor, especially #1. I thought I'd try it per Cliff's recommendation; set on "line level" input, and placed after the speaker block. I still like it, but...I gravitate toward setting the Comp knob very low. Often around .20 to .40...

db level for generating live tones

So conventional wisdom for mixing records would tell you to shoot for 83-87db. But I'm wondering if there is a different general target volume to use when trying to adjust the spectral balance of your guitar tones for live use? What has worked for y'all and what hasn't as far as generating...

Fixed Firmware update changed tempo mapping?

Not sure when this happened or why. I have a number of presets with trem/pan blocks that are using tap tempo for rhythm. Typically I set this to quarter note, but occasionally eighth or dotted. None are global blocks. Somehow after updating to 7.0B, a number of them got set to whole note...

    Units for graphic EQs?

Probably an obvious answer. What are the units of measure on the various graphic EQs? On the global 10-band, dropping something by 3.00 doesn't seem to equate in my ear to a 3db drop at that frequency, so it makes me wonder if the units are in db or what? Also, are they the same units as on...

    CPU usage question

Had a strange thing happen yesterday. I've been tinkering with my main patches a bit, since some amps that I didn't like before are much better in 6.02. Several of my patches seem to push the envelope of CPU usage. I have two that sit right around 95-96% with no apparent bad effects. Both of...

    Maybe? Frequency of character

This may not be a bug at all, maybe just a misunderstanding of the way the peaking character control is working. I'm accustomed to using parametric EQs, and have a good ear for frequencies. But if I try to dial out (or in) a frequency in using the character controls, the frequency I end up...

Wish: parametric EQ tweak for Cab-Lab

There are times when I find an IR that is...oooh, so close. But it lacks something, or has too much of something. I envision an interface where I could superimpose a few bands of parametric EQ over the IR spectrum chart, similar to channel PEQs on many modern mixers with graphic UIs. For...

Shoutout to Ownhammer V4 checker cab

Not affiliated, no vested interest, etc. Downloaded the EV versions of this cab that Ownhammer recently came out with. It is really great! Nice for mid gain and clean stuff, at least. I'm pairing it with a 2x12 Celestion G12-65 IR from Buddy for my main ODS tones, and it really opened things...

    Love this thing.

I just spent about 30 minutes making a set of patches for me to recreate Ian Thornley's tones on the song Ghost by Big Wreck. Pi fuzz, tunnel reverb and a few other tricks and I'm exploring a sonic territory that I haven't used much. But it's basically there. This box is pretty amazing. Now...

Q: delays engaging automatically with tempo changes...why?

I have a number of patches that have the delay time tied to the tempo. On some but not all patches, hitting the tempo button on either the front panel or on my midi controller engages the delays, but that's not what I want. I must have the block engage tied to the tempo button somehow, but I...

All quiet on the front lines...

Maybe it's just my perception, but I'd love to see the posting metrics for this site for the past few months. It seems to me that since Q3.02 came out, posting volume has dropped considerably. Maybe people are playing instead of tweaking? Maybe people are just really satisfied? I know I'm...

    WISH: less emphasis on V30s

I know that there are a number of companies making IRs, and that companies like Ownhammer do have a number of cabs with many different speakers. Lately, though, and with the newer capture methods, releases seem to have Vintage 30s overrepresented. I'd love to get more G12-65s, SROs, old Blue...

Bug? "Edited" not registered when changing EQ type in amp block

Reporting this mainly in case there is some other consequence of this that is hidden. This is basically a nuisance bug. 3.02, Mk2, editing via the unit itself. Go to an amp block, then to the EQ tab. Change from one EQ type to another and notice that the yellow "edited" LED does not light...
