    Axe Fx for my mac

I sold off all my guitar recording gear a while back and went over to electronic music (got a wicked modular synth built and am having the time of my life). BUT - through circumstances that cropped up I had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have a custom Mayones made to my desired...

FX8 and Fryette Power Station Problems and Conversation with Steven Fryette

Hey Guys, So I talked with Fryette yesterday (I'm pretty sure it was Steven Fryette himself) as I've run into an issue with using my FX8 and Fryette Power Station together. As a result, Steven said they will be buying an FX8 from a local dealer who has an FX8 on hand and will be testing it to...

Well, as the post and subsequent thread is approaching 9,000 views it must hold some sort of interest for people who frequent the forum. I've been around, as I still have an FX8. That thing is pretty friggin' sweet. Still have to order some humbuster cables so I can set it up "right" but even just using regular TS cables gets pretty good results. Very quiet and transparent! And flexible to boot! I want to point out that at no...

Amps are incredibly loud. LOL. Yes, I can mic my cab, but my music space operates mostly as a mixing area. I don't have a separate treated room to put a cab in, and my dog would hate me for it anyway. Also, with the great impulse responses available in this day and age (long gone are the...

Keep in mind "the search" is a very complex process, especially when it comes to amps. I had a Single Rectifier Solo come up for a KILLER deal about a week before I found the 5150. Has the Axe-FX II Achieved 99% amp modeling accuracy?

You're right to be skeptical. There's an inherent "smoothing" effect when listening to an amp through an IR as it just doesn't capture the speaker movement as accurately as a live mic'ed tone. But I've also heard stunning examples of tube amps through IRs and frankly, it sounds amazing by...

Has the Axe-FX II Achieved 99% amp modeling accuracy?

It depends on what you're playing. This thing is pretty astounding for clean tones, but once you start getting into breakup and high gain territory there's still room for improvement. Matrix gt1000fx bridged mono into 400 watt bass cab?

So if I'm reading it right, it's fifine to do it, but the question becomes whether or not it will be loud enough at the flickering point to provide stage volume. I know a couple guys have talked about running bass rigs with the matrix. I think maybe @jimfist talked about it at some point...

Matrix gt1000fx bridged mono into 400 watt bass cab?

See, this is where I get confused. People run 212 cabs with Vintage 30s in stereo mode all the time. That's a cab rated at 120 watts being run at 300 watts. The explanation I have seen is that the power of a solid state amp is not like the power of a tube amp. So basically, the ss is equivalent...

Matrix gt1000fx bridged mono into 400 watt bass cab?

Hey folks, So I've got the Matrix coming in this Friday, and I've got a pretty good price on a 400 watt 8 ohm cab. I'm thinking in this case I would run the Matrix in bridged mono. Or would that be too much power? Or still too little?

Reamping Kemper using the Axe Fx II within Cubase 7

What about running the kemper in the effects loop of the axe? I have no idea if it would work because I have no idea what the connections with the kemper are like.

    Crunch parameter

I know it has to do with preamp breakup. Just crank it up and it becomes very audibly apparent what it's doing. I do like a bit of it here ava there. Combined with speaker drive and motor drive it add a bitof that oomph I like to hear in high gain stuff.

    Is Axe Fx Viable?

I think it's generally weird that ANYBODY cares so much about the opinions of other people when it comes to gear. Are we that lacking in confidence that as adults, we act like somebody else's opinion of what kit we use will somehow affect us through spooky action at a distance? Unfortunately, I...

    Is Axe Fx Viable?

Love me some tube amps. Love me some Axe-fx II. I will argue that while the axe has always sounded great, for me it has been in the last three fw (with heavy emphasis on the last one) where the "feel" through a cab IR got to where I'm really happy, and the breakup finally felt identical to the...

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 2.02 Firmware Release

Yeah like I said I want wasn't trying to nitpick. The verbiage just confused me a bit. I'm a huge fan of the current modeling. I had a crisis of faith a little while back and kind of lashed out, but the Quantum 2.0 refinements have sealed the deal for me. So much so, in fact, that I've made a...

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 2.02 Firmware Release

I'm not trying to be nitpicky, here. But... if you like 2.02 modeling the best, why is there a 2.02+ modeling?
