Where to start?

So I am new to the AxeFx and just received my XL+ yesterday. Where should I start with the Cab IR's? Which Cab Pack ('s) are the must haves? I mainly play 80's hair bands and metal (Think Dokken, Tesla, Queensryche and Metallica). Thanks, Scott

XL+ with Monitors

So I just picked up the Axe FX II XL+ and am about to set it up. My plan is to use it for bedroom playing either through a pair of monitors or head phones. I am set on getting the Yamaha HS7's for monitors but was curious, do I hook them up directly to the Axe, or do I go through something else...

If I were to use this as an effect only box (Axe-FX II XL) in my amps loop, would I need a Serial to Parallel mixer (like Suhr's Minimix II) to preserve my amps tone and keep part of the Analog signal? Or does the Axe allow some of the analog signal to pass through without any digital...
