    sounds very strange, i have 2 qsc k10's and usually have them infront of me to reduce spillover into the room. i get singing feedback with a strat and a preset with a plexi 50W at 8 on the volume. i would say i usually have monitors at medium/low volume too (compared to normal monitors).

    i run at 12dB, the hottest pups i use is a SH-4 i dont hit the red at all. i have tried with 6dB but it only works with a strat for me, tele, 335, lester and superstrats get into the red quit a bit. we all have different touch on the instrument so ymmv :)
