Carvin Fet 450...Any advice?

If you can handle the weight, I would ALWAYS choose a great sounding tube power amp over a solid state one. So my vote goes to the Mesa.

An option but, it isn't powered, is a DV Mark 1x12 cabinet. Under 20 pounds and small enough to carry on a plane. You would just need your power amp of choice with the Axe.

Fryette D60 More - first recording/Toontrack Metal God 2013 contest

I like the actual solo quite a bit. I like "soul" in solos for EVERY style of music. I don't feel the same way about the tone though. Which is not to say it sounds bad but, why not try rerecording a few takes with different amp models? You may find that another one fits within the music more.

Thanks for your suggestion Simeon, I'll try setting up a patch using your method as well. One thing I did notice was that certain amp models had more latency than others when using my whole step down preset, so experimenting with changing to similar sounding amp models may also help with anyone...

Eganter M4 with G-system or AXE FXII?

Hello, the Axe is great as is the G-System. I used to own a G-System and used it with my VHT Ultra-Lead and loved that set up. The Axe does a lot more than the G-System does (except that the G-System has a midi controller built in) and it does cost $1K+ more when you factor in the MFC controller...

I'll tell you what, I wouldn't record this way because I do feel a teensy bit of latency but, I'm going to my next rehearsal with an E tuned guitar and the axe and seeing how it goes. If it goes well, I will play some live gigs this way.

Go to preset # 75. Adjust amp block, cab block, and the various fx blocks to taste and voila! Leave the pitch block as is setting wise. Only mess with the actual pitch interval if you want say Eb or C etc.

What's the best bang for the buck for power amp ?

Rocktron Velocity stuff sounds great and is an excellent value especially used. I have a 120 (60w x 2 and 1u) which I've gigged with before. Was toying with buying a second and running them both bridged mono in fact if I find I need more power during my power metal gigs :D
