Just in the last week or so it seems everytime I disconnect USB from the AxeFX to my Mac, when I come back it won't reconnect until i restart both machines/unplug all cables etc. I reset system management etc on my mac but can't figure out for the life of me why it's doing this all of the sudden.

    AC30 Brilliant....bravo Cliff

I have to give it to you, @FractalAudio , this may be my new fav clean/edge of breakup/chime amp in the box. I've never vibed with AC30's (although it's variants are my fav amps..such as the AC20, DC30 etc) but man, this was so easy to dial in and it's perfect. Takes drive blocks incredibly...

Routing USB Audio for live tracks from Mac

yeah i was try to use it in a pinch as an all in one interface because of a lack of direct boxes where i was. was hoping to route mainstage, click and stems from my Mac all through the Axe. I knew it was a stretch but thought it was worth asking if anyone had figured out how to do it.

Longest time between updates for the FM3...is this it?

yeah you sort of have to accept it going in....and it's honestly why i don't make my life easier with the FM9. As much as I'd love to not lug the III around to everything, I like having all the new stuff too much to give it up lol.

A pre set input EQ on default state amps

i mean it's obviously part of the amps sound because it's shaping the input before it hits anything else. I'm sure each designer does it that way to achieve the sounds they are going for with that particular amp.

Insanely loud reverb and delay on EVERY setting!

since they haven't responded in almost a year and a half, probably not....but they didn't give us much to work with to hep them. For what you are dealing with, just turn off the FX and save the preset without them. Many factory presets feature the amos as well as fx, just the way it is.

    Getting that warmth sound.....

Who's gone from the III to the FM9?

I also use the hold function to switch channels on my drives, delays and mods...but honestly try to use either scenes or best case when I have the time to program, automated changes from Ableton. Since I'm typically MD'ing as well as playing lead the less I have to tap dance the better.
  66. jlynnb1

Who's gone from the III to the FM9?

Dialing in a good low-gain OD tone

for this vibe I'd say def an AC style amp. My preferred would be DC30 but the AC20 is a good choice as well. The Chieftain would even work. While not being an AC style the amp the Buttery would be a great option as well.
  72. jlynnb1

Can't find a good high gain tone

but of all the tones in the Fractal, high gain should be the easiest to dial in because high gain amps are so represented.
  73. jlynnb1

Can't find a good high gain tone

the KPA also has an exaggerated midrange compression that makes the profiles feel unnaturally fluid/easy to play.

he's def thought of stuff we haven't even imagined yet. but seriously, I'd say those things are factoring into the perception of the tone we're hearing. get right in front of the speaker and it probably already sounds like something you're working with.
