    One more thing, the only adjustment this amp has is “battery” power. Apparently Brian likes it with low battery. Knight Audio seems to have emulated this with a knob. Curious if it corresponds to one of the advanced power amp settings.

    Actually no... No delays used in this recording. Funny but it sounds like delay is turned on there... Slash's tone has some stereo compression added post-recording. Mine is raw, just amp+TM block, there is no reverb even. Adding a little compressor only makes it sound closer to the real thing.

    Call me crazy, but I'm almost sure they used Vox AC30s and MXR Distortion+ exclusively both in studio and live around the time they recorded that album. (Yep, they did metal with Vox AC30s) They switched to JCM800 and then to JCM900 later on. You'll notice a big change in tone after Piece of Mind.
