I don't think any DAW sounds better than another, it's just about what workflow you're most comfortable with. I've been using Reaper for years because it's what I'm most used to.

Having screen issues

The past couple of days the screen on my Axe Fx II has been a bit sluggish. When changing screens it seems like the refresh rate has dramatically dropped. This is most evident when on the tuning page. Before the tuning wheel would easily respond and give smooth feedback, but now it's constantly...

So I've connected my SM57 to my PodX3, and connected that to my Axe FX via the rear instrument input. It's working pretty well at the moment, with my current chain as: Gate -> Filter -> Compressor -> Reverb ->Delay -> Enhance I've only spent a few minutes on this so I've not had time to...

So I really want to add some harsh vocals to some of the stuff I'm writing, and I thought I'd ask for some advice. My favourite vocalists in this vein are Mike Armine and Eric Kalsbeek. A clearer example of this (less music, more vocals) would be 9.28 here...

So looking at my project settings on Reaper it seems like I'm at 44.1K. Guess I'll have to try out 48k. EDIT: Before I changed anything I noticed this at the top, does this mean Reaper has sorted out everything for me already?

Thanks everyone for checking the video out. It's a Babicz Spider. I really like it for layered acoustic sections (think Porcupine Tree, Anathema etc) but I don't particularly enjoy it when it comes to the percussive acoustic stuff. Then again I say this after having played a Lowden guitar...

Just want to add I've been having this issue too with 10.09. Windows 7 64 bit. This issue is the same with both 1.50 and 1.67 USB drivers. Back on 10.06 and the issue isn't there.

On the driver or on the axe? On the driver USB streaming mode is on safe, the ASIO buffer size is 2048, and if I recall correctly when I had 10.09 on the front panel of the Axe FX under I/O (audio tab) it said 64 on the buffer. Am I correct in saying v10.06 doesn't have this on the I/O menu?

Intermittent crash when USB connected?

Just gone into the control panel and Buffer Settings. The USB Streaming Mode is on Safe. (ASIO buffer size is 2048 samples if that's any use) Shame about the 4x4 config :( I remember there being talk of the 3x3 config so you could re-amp in the mix. Is that still being worked on?
