Interesting. How much do you think a balanced cable would help? I’d be open to adding a circuit to make the guitar output balanced...that could then be plugged into one of the balanced inputs on the AxeFX. I’m curious how much you think that would help though...wouldn’t the pickup still be...

No...but there was noise present. Let me explain. At the factory they had about 8 guitars in the factory store that you could play, along with a couple of their PRS amps...but I didn’t have my AxeFX there. I played 3 or 4 of those guitars plugged into one of their amps...and I also played mine...

Ok, so if I’m reading that right...leave the MV at “10”, and use the Input Drive to adjust gain/distortion (or lack thereof) desired...then use the Level control to adjust overall volume for level matching between presets...is that correct? Also, what is Input Trim used for?

Hey guys! Just got my III today and I was going through some presets and they all seemed pretty noisy, even the clean amps. I looked around a bit and found that almost all the master volumes were set to “10”... Even the clean amps were distorted at that level...and that just didn’t seem normal...

Axe-FX III & resale value of AXFX2 after AX8 release?

I think it's going to be quite a while. We've already been told that the Sharc processors that Fractal uses are top of the line...and $500 a piece!!! There is nothing out there to rival it. So until something else is made, the AxeFx 2 is it. Once a new/better processor is made, then development...

I made my own using all Neutrik connectors and Mogami cable...all the connectors and ID tags and panel came from Redco Audio...great guys to work with...it's the one right under the digitech EQ...can't remember the total cost for the parts, but I think it was around $100...

Hmm, something I hadn't thought of...I don't think we have those, but the clicking noise does seem to be happening about once per second which is 60hz...I've checked the power with an oscilloscope and it looks clean...I think I'll also try turning off breakers one by one to see if it persists...

Need help! I know nothing about recording

If you are planning on recording direct to the PC, you can do this via the USB port on the AxeFX...you don't need an interface at all in this scenario (the axefx IS your interface)...all you'd need is some recording software like Cubase, sonar, or one of my favorites is Reaper...it's only $60...

How can I get power outlets on the FRONT of a rack? Patchbay?

I would suggest talking to REDCO...I'll bet they can cut a panel to mount 2 outlets and the other required "D" sub holes for the other AXE2 connections you need...like the panel I made for my AXE2

Axe II Driver problem???

Hey guys...I just recently upgraded to the current version of the firmware as well as the newer usb driver and axe-edit. After install I was able to connect to the axe 2 and it seems like axe edit is communicating with the axe 2 ok...however, I still have this error showing up from the...

warranty ? do I have to register my axe fx 2

^^^ only way I can see that is if the seller is offering to have the buyer return it to him and he sends it back to G66 if it needs warranty work. That's the only way that would work.

Problem: Preset loses Punch after saving/storing it.

Wait, so, having axe-edit plugged in and running while playing affects the sound adversely??? I'm confused...I thought that axe-edit was just an editor...all the sound is being produced by the AXE II itself...no???

I'm so confused on all this as well... Also, on a related note...I've read a bunch of posts but am still confused on what actually happens when you load the new 3.x and up firmware...what happens to your curent 2.x presets? Are values changed? Are they supposed to sound exactly the same until...

technical question on Midi connections ...Cliff?

Does anyone know if the 7-pin midi input is just a standard Midi connection with the extra pins for the power? Put another way...a normal midi connection only requires pins 2,4, and 5 to be connected, so what I'm wondering is if the midi functions on the AXEII are any different? I still need...

Some 3.00 Suggestions for the Amp/Cab blocks

SCOTT... You said this... "•Go to your amp model and look for the 'amp type' and reset it to another amp and then back. This will allow the parameters to all rest to default for the new firmware." So, if I understand this correctly, you NEED to do this for every preset? Say someone...

Need CREED "What if" patch help...

Hey guys...! I'm new to the Axe II, and I'd like to create a patch to get the sound that Mark Tremonti has on "What If"...particularly at the end of the song, it sounds alot heavier there than it does in the beginning. But at any rate...I'm not sure where to start??? I've heard some AMAZING...

Just got AxeII... wow, fan noise.

And how would you IR an acoustic guitar for example??? You can't feed a 5 millisecond sweeping tone through it...or can you???

^^^ Ok...I'm starting to get it I think... But why would you need to IR an EQ? That doesn't really make sense to me? Or do you mean to say that you could, say, mic a particular guitar piece and the IR would derive the EQ setting that would sound like that...frequency wise at least...I realize...

^^^ interesting... Ok, I can see how this would effect the sound...say, using an IR of a violin...now, i'm a little confused about the difference between an IR and a CAB block...in other words, are all the different cabinet options we have just IR's of those cabinets? Do you have BOTH a cab...
