    Audio Engineering Fundamentals udemy course

Hi all I hope it’s ok if I plug my course here. My self paced udemy course has been quite popular so far and I thought it likely that some folks here might be interested in it It assumes no prior knowledge about audio engineering and will give a good foundation to build patch-prowess in the...

Acoustic comb filtering with quadbox cabinets

I'm just doing some math on my day off ... Just running some numbers to see, theoretically, the types of comb filtering that one can hear when using a quad box (compared to a 1x12 cabinet) Let's say a player is two metres in front of the cabinet, the cabinet is on the floor. I...

cheap midi hub for controlling multiple expression pedals only

Hi guys So what I'm after is a cheaper way of accessing those 4 expression pedal outlets and have them input into the axe fx 2 via midi. Does anyone make sort of a midi hub, or just a cheaper midi controller that has expression pedal outlets. I'd be happy with just 2 expression pedal outlets if...

    worrying sounds from CLR

ah yes very good point! It was a mobile generator. None of the other's had problems with their gear though. What was odd about the generator was that it was labelled 250 V / 15 A, in Aus the power outlets are usually 240 or 250 V with a max of 10 amps, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference...

After playing for about 15 minutes, the CLR made high pitched signally noises. It sounded like radio interference more than anything else. High Gain Live Sound

when they say high cut at 5500, that doesnt mean that there is 0 dB at 6000 and above. its not a brick wall cut off, its a steady descent. same with down the other end at 120, everyones counterargument is always "but low E is 88 (i think?) so you cant cut above that!!" , yes you can, because its...

  33. audemia

I don't "get" the VU meters...

6dB is twice the voltage, because VU has a reference to volts (right?) +3dB is twice the power if you are talking about wattages only a range of values covering 3 or 4 dB is accurate enough for this purpose, try and get all your presets to cover the same range and you are good to go!

Is there such a thing as "Reverse Fletcher Munson"??

maybe the way they tune the rooms with the graphic EQs is killing the tone as well. I imagine if they completely pulled out 1000 and a few others it would think out considerably (for me)
  44. audemia

Is there such a thing as "Reverse Fletcher Munson"??

it might be something to do with the gain staging of your axe signal into the mixing desk, maybe its distorting in a way that thins out of the tone

Cliff & Company: What FRFR/Monitors do YOU use for reference monitoring?

General Discussion: How do you compensate?

honestly i think the best thing to do is just relax. get a great "perfect" tone with cab sims. i think jamming to backing tracks is the best way to do this, preferrably abacking track that is similar to the rest of your band if possible. then from then on, as long your tone has a sensible...
