Wish Nonlinearity and Mixer Function for Cab Block

I would humbly disagree. A vector mixer is more efficient and more intuitive. Yes, there are some blends you can’t achieve when using 3 or 4 IR’s, but those tend to be contrived cases. That’s why a single vector mixer control is popular in UI design for a blend function instead of multiple...

Not a Bug Bug? - Sound glitch with FW 7.0 and SPDIF if not sync'd with audio card

If you use the FM9 as the clock master (FM9 word clock set to "internal" and Focusrite Control Sync set to "S/PDIF") you'll only need one cable, going from the FM9 out to the Scarlett in. However, if you're interested in re-amping, you might want to use use two cables anyway. You'll find...

    Convolution reverb

Altiverb was the first prominent convolution reverb, around 2005. That was followed by a wave of many other similar reverbs and every major DAW included a convolution reverb shortly thereafter. They are still widely used, but the popularity has dwindled as people have come to prefer the controls...

[not possible] Okay, I'll say it... a second Amp block!

Well, yeah, that's one way to look at it :). There's no free lunch. Dual amps on the FM3 could be done, given a sufficient willingness to sacrifice quality. There are always sacrifices that must be made when designing devices and, as your measurements show, the FAS devices in different...

    Convolution reverb

[not possible] Okay, I'll say it... a second Amp block!

I'm unaware of any Axe-FX III comparisons that suffered because somebody turned down the quality setting, so it doesn't seem like offering that setting has caused FAS any harm. Making that feature available on the FM3 might permit a 2nd amp block, I'm not sure. I'm just saying there's a...

Not a Bug Bug? - Sound glitch with FW 7.0 and SPDIF if not sync'd with audio card

If you're asking if it's ok to not sync the devices properly, the answer is "no". Otherwise, you'll get random results, which might mislead you into thinking the problem correlates with firmware version, when it does not.

    Convolution reverb

Convolution reverb would be nice, but, like so many things that would be nice features on the AxeFX/FM*, the limitation is memory on the device: Convolution reverbs would need more memory than is currently available.

Not a Bug Bug? - Sound glitch with FW 7.0 and SPDIF if not sync'd with audio card

If you don't set the FM9 to sync externally when the Scarlett is set to internal, you'll get seemingly random artifacts like you're describing. And of course you'll need to make two spdif connections, i.e. both ways, if you want to do that.

    FM9 Proper Setup for Plugins

How do I use outboard in fx loop with the digital connectors?

Regardless of whether you're using an fx loop or not, it's important to adjust preset output levels to ensure a peak somewhere around 0 dB VU. You can use the output 2 block meter on the Axe-FX to help when adjusting that, or use the preset leveling tool in Axe-Edit. Once you do that, you'll...
