Tube preamp instead of amp block?

If you don't plan on running it 4CM (with effect blocks before the 6505 mini input) you can just use the rear Input 1 jack (from your amp FX Send) and then use Output 1 Left to your amp FX Return. This will save you having to put the FXL block in your path on the Fractal.

Midi AC Adapter for XL+

What MIDI controller are you using? I've run a Voodoo Lab GC Pro and used the AC adapter that came with it with no problems. I now use the MFC with power over ethernet. I would suspect that any serious MIDI controller would come with its own power supply that could be used to send phantom...

SKB Rack Case Cage Nuts?

Who's using with EVH 5150 III 100 watt head?

Doesn't RJM make a cable? I have one for my Mark V that allows channel switching via MIDI (no need for another power supply). If I'm not mistaken, the make a similar cable for an EVH 5153 100W. I have a 50W which has MIDI so don't have an issue with switching. RJM Music Technology, Inc. ...

Compressor help

I have a Suhr Koji and love it. Having the ability to mix in the compressed sound with the uncompressed sound is a nice feature, and it's probably the quietest pedal compressor I've used. I've also been trying out an Xotic SP Compressor and like that one too (but not nearly as much as the Koji).

Think you have a great tone and then ...

I believe this is based around a 5150 and not a Recto. Not sure on the IR but I typically go with Vintage 30's on my 5150 patches. FWIW I'm digging IR's based around Marshall cabs with V30's rather than Mesa cabs with the 5150. Maybe start there?

Using scenes...and remember what's what.

Scenes are the way to go. I have my MFC set up so that the bottom row are Scenes 1-5 running left to right. I set them up similarly to how you described - Scene 1/Clean, Scene 2/Rhythm or Crunch or Verse, Scene 3/Lead1, Scene 4/Lead2. I rarely need a 5th scene, and if I do it's for some small...

Axe Fx II and Logic Pro X

I've done a few of my own. Took some time learning how to do it and at one point after improving my skills actually totally rebuilt my entire Triaxis / 2:90 rack with all new cables. Do my own pedal boards too. An Axe FX rig should be fairly simple to DIY.
