I was listening to this again. Can I ask how you recorded the drums? I like them a lot. I like the chord progressions. How did you record the guitars? Sounds like a Tele on the middle pickups. What sim did you use? Thx!

    Favorite amps for Strats?

I've had the axe fx for 15 years (yikes) and been through all of them. If I had to choose one, it would be the Vibroverb. I'm using The Ownhammer Vibroverb IR's. Others that have been great for me is the Princetone AA964, Swart, and the Carr Rambler with the dynacabs is just amazing.

Anyone try using UA Ox Stomp for their cabs?

I'm doing the same thing as Satch4u3, using the Ox box for cabs. The advantage is the cabs sound great and there were times I was able to find tones that were alluding me using my regular IR's. I'm sure I could have found it eventually, but the interface on the Ox with it's very limited choice...

AFIII Song using Ox Box for cabs

That is very kind of you. I used my short scale and medium scale precision basses, recorded them DI through my UA Solo 610 and put a brainworks Svt Plugin on it. The first bit also has a brainworx super OD before the plugin. Sometimes I'm using a mute on the string which can help a lot.

AFIII Song using Ox Box for cabs

I got into a real amp mood and bought a bunch of amp heads. It did not last and they are all gone except by Louis Electric KR12. Tone Matching - What do you play and for how long?

I've been testing this out and I find I get a different result whether I use pink noise or white noise. If I let the noise run more than an instant before matching, the curve in the graphic totally smooths out. Here is the result for white noise after 5 seconds. It's totally smooth curve...

Tone Matching - What do you play and for how long?

I am tone matching my amp head using a load box and Di (using the live mode). I don't know what to play. A few chords? Single notes? Palm muting? Is it more accurate the longer I play? I noticed that if I play for a long time, like 30 seconds or longer, the graph in the config tab flattens out...

    Wish Louis Electric KR12 amp

After hearing clips of this amp I've been trying to recreate it on the fractal for years. But I kinda stink at it so I gave up and bought the amp. To me it's the best sounding amp I've played through, very unique low end response. Has an adjustable NFB dial (besides presence). There's a tech...

Your best drive block to turn a clean amp into a dirty Marshall ?

I had luck using the plexi 6ca7 with a real amp. Just turn sag to zero to disable the power section and I usually switch the speaker impedance to resistive load. Hard to imagine getting a more plexi drive then a plexi.

    Louis electric KR12 attempt

I'm trying to replicate the tone of this amp, probably my all-time favorite amp demo. The Kr12 seems to be a Bassman 56f/Marshall hybrid so I took the brit 800, put the bassman tone stack in there, changed the tubes and have a classic lead 80 for the IR (mine is from the Celestion cab pack...

Using Axe-Fx III and Sonarworks Reference 4

I haven't been able to work out the impulse response thing. I have those peq's saved so I can call them up for any preset. Also have...

Tip: amp input EQ instead of guitar tone control

Is it just a matter of turning down the high cut? Sometimes I've put a filter block in front of everything to simulate rolling the tone knob down and I've always wonder if it's the same thing or am I losing something. So if recording a DI and then reamping, why wouldn't I always leave the tone...

Moved house.. patches sound bassy/boomy.. how did you address this? (Yamaha HS7’s)

You can go on youtube and play sine waves of different frequencies (the real problems are mostly in the lower frequencies). Walk around your room and hear how the sound increases or decreases and it will give you an idea of what you're dealing with. The solution for me was bass traps, and then...

Importance of (or lack thereof) your room when dialing in sounds

I mean at my listening position certain frequencies will be interfering with each others and will cancel out. Maybe my guitar will sound better with 10db cut at 90hz and an 8k boost at 2khz, but it won't be accurate.

Importance of (or lack thereof) your room when dialing in sounds

Importance of (or lack thereof) your room when dialing in sounds

I'd rather have crappy gear in a good room then the best gear in a crappy room. If you have a small room like I do (9x12) it's impossible to mix anything accurately.
