I dont know if its 'worth it' to have boutique, but as Cliff has improved and improved the Axe, the nuances you find between pickups have been greatly accentuated.

OwnHammer 112 DLX - FAS Quantum Amps

I have spent a lot of time with these IRs and the Deluxe Tweed. Went down the rabbit hole and set up a looper and did a lot of head to head shoot outs. These are just the damn best - clarity, grind, sparkle...no flub. Very happy. Probably going to need to get the V4 Marshall pack now.

The best patch I have ever made on The Axe was made this week. Two amps: The JCM 800 (kinda clean) The Silver Jubilee (dirty). Both go into reverb. The reverb then goes into two cabs. Equal parts The Amp Factory Marshall 1X12 Edge and Cone. Sounds great through my Les Paul, Strat and...

quick question: what is the most dynamic crunch amp on the AXE?

The Ruby is indeed awesome. The Liverpool Wrecker and my Gibson Les Paul Jr. I can go from crystal clean, crunchy to metal all on the same preset. That amp is awesome.

Funny...I went to our local guitar store...and there was a Les Paul Jr...2009...Used. $500. Bought it. Brought it home and plugged into a Tweed Model...A Bassman...The Matchless...holy crap the thing sound absolutely AMAZING.

I asked Scott - Strymon Big Sky, Hagstrom Viking, or CLR. He made a strong case for the CLR! The CLR is Blu Ray to my QSC DVD. 1080P to 480P. I had the tape delay on..about 6 repeats...you could hear them so distinctly ... and the subtle modulation ... and there was a lot of 'space' between...

Cliff - I would buy this coffee table book in a heartbeat. Seriously. Consider it. Like each page has cool pics of the guts and the cab/head...mixed with a discussion of the workings of the amp from Master Jedi Chase. I would buy that book in a heartbeat.

Atmospheric Tutorials...

Still not getting how to combine a chain of effects to give good atmospheric delays. I listen to, say, a youtube video on The Big Sky Reverb pedal, and I know the axe can do all that...i just dont know how really. Is there something out there that can help?

Getting a much more jangly top end out of the Rockerverb now. It sounds great with the new OH 1X12 with the drive right around 4 to 5. A great way to go is have the RV as Amp X and the Carr at Amp Y. Crunch and clean...same 1X12.

The Bandmaster is the best for that vintage fendery thing. put a spring reverb at about 4% mix in front of it...crank it till it starts to flub...and there you have some sweet black keys cool ass tone.
