    Lexicon LXP-1 Hall B Preset

Hi Everybody, I was in the studio last week recording some real amps and I was using my Lexicon LXP-1 reverb unit. Since it is my favourite reverb and a very classic reverb I thought I'd give it another go with making my AX8 reverb like it. Here's a preset and I got a little closer (at least...

Jazz Tone - How To Make A Strat Jazz Sound (with the AX8)

Happy New Year! How to get a good Jazz Tone and how I get my tone in the videos are two of the questions I get most frequently. I haven't done too many videos on gear and tone, but I thought I might try to make one. This video is quite long and discusses jazz tone or guitar tones in general as...

Jazz Chord Melody - Twin Patch

Here's a recording of me practicing for a solo guitar gig. Pretty traditional Chord Melody approach. It's the last part of the theme and then a bit of the solo. I posted this on FB and got the request to upload the patch, so that is included. Hope you like it! Jens

I am not sure what finishes the AS200 had, I think the Sco signature version is only Sunburst, but the AS200 series had more options. I would really try to find a late 70's or early 80's Yamaha or Ibanez semi. The can really stand against the Gibsons from that period as well. You will get much...

Could very well be an AS200, the Scofield model :) The AS200 could be a bit expensive by now since it is famous. It can be worthwhile checking if you can find the signature guitar from Lee Ritenour. THey are supposed to be really good and a much cheaper. I've discovered I like the necks that...

Hi Axers! Messing around with the AX8 and enjoying an overdose of Reverb. Dare I say noodling in a sort of A minor Dorian? Free improvisations certainly have their place. I stay close to the Dorian sound but there are a few side steps as well. Hope you like it! Jens

    Silverface Patch thread

But that is mostly related to your technique and where you play the strings with your right hand? Since fingers are softer than a pick then don't be afraid to have a the gain fairly high. If it doesn't compress you probably won't get a useable sound. I think Wes was also turning up the amp...

Axe Ultra sound cabs and FOH..

At the end of your signal chain in the axe you make a separate path that goes to a cab block and to the FXloop. That way the signal is send through a Cab IR and out to output 2. You could also consider switching so that output 2 is used for your power amp and the XLR's are for the PA? Jens

I am very curious about this. I really like having a singing sustain, and I am sure it is of course in part a question of the pick up, but at the same time most guitars who really have a nice sustain are made from mahogany. My go to guitar is an Ibanez that AFAIK is made from spruce (I could...

Extremely newb type question about boosting....

Extreme settings will give you extreme results, so maybe don't always expect that to work? In this whole discussion it is a bit difficult because the quality of a tone is a question of taste so what I find useable or great you might completely dislike... I am not sure if I am correct in this...

Extremely newb type question about boosting....

I guess it matters how much of the drive you want from the pedal and how much from boosting the amp, so I mostly start with drive set very low and level quite high and then I dial that in. I have sometimes found that it sounded better to boost a little less and use the drive in the pedal, but I...

Exp Pedal use....what you use it for....and more importantly....why??

I have a Bæhringer FCB1010. I use one for expression for volume and most of the time the other one is in-gain on delay so I can use it almost as a sustain pedal if I want that. On other stuff it's wah or whammy. I am begining to mess a bit with tap tempo stuff I think I could use that very well...

    2 amp limitation

No, since the point is that you don't need more than 2 amps to make a wet dry wet setup with an axe, but you do need to know how to use the unit. Try to look at the picture again and figure out what is going on and which signals goes where. Jens

    2 amp limitation
