    Yea I meant guitar cab IR, not IRs in a broader way (reverbs etc). Weird, in my experience I've always found little differences in putting fx before and after, and always preferred the sound after, even if the difference was minimal. I'll experiment more with Quantum!

    My experience is that sweep loudness does indeed change the resulting IR a lot! Especially the low end. I'd say try different loudness values and compare the IRs, then settle for the one you like the most.

    I do think the Axe-Fx II's DI is of good enough quality, but in my opinion the Countryman sounds bigger and a bit punchier. I record with my Countryman and then reamp thru the Axe Fx via USB digitally, so there's no D/A/D loss.

    I feel Carvin's active pickups are kinda dark and very, very high output. I'd recommend choosing their passive ones and then changing them with BKPs, which I love :) Carvin will install third-party pickups if you send 'em to their factory, I did it!

    The input level changes the di signal A LOT. It's weird, but just try putting it at 10.2% and then at 49.8% and watch how the peaks at 10.2% are much louder. I think there's soft limiting happening there, not the best when recording DI but it's still a good DI quality imho.

    EVH 100W doesn't have a Depth value, but its default setting is 6 within the Axe-Fx. For good reason: I tried putting it at 0 and then doing a Tonematch didn't compensate at all for the lack of low end. On the other hand I prefer to put it at 0 when building presets from scratch.

    Settings on T808 are defaults but with drive at 0, 5153 Red settings are: Gain: 4.7 Bass: 8 Middle: 7 High: 5 Depth: 6 Presence: 8 No I didn't mess with other parameters, although I touch every possible knob when I build presets from scratch.

    Yes you would have to lower the volume to make them at Axe volume. If possible, record the same riff you've already recorded, but using the Axe 2 dry signal (input 3 on your DAW), then compare and level them.
