At the moment, USB input channel 3-4 can be set to take the analogue input 2 inputs. What I would like is record the full signal including delay etc using USB input channels 1-2 and the signal after the amp and cab block on channels 3-4. To accomplish this, I fork the signal from the cab block...

Recording your Axe-FX II directly with an Android device and more..

You can use Audio Evolution Mobile without USB, but then you can only use the device's microphone or the headset input (which is mono mic), so if you want quality recordings (and your Android device is compatible) then using USB audio is preferred.

G3 Steve Vai in Axe-Fx II action!

I went to G3 in Amsterdam. Was a nice show, but the patch switching times of Vai were just awfully long (long silence). Sometimes he was just late at switching patches/fx too though, like he didn't have enough experience yet where all the buttons were.

Software v5 - High End?

Yeah, I just have the II and compared to my Ultra v11 it has more feel, but the ice-pick on high-gain sounds is really something that bothers me. But, as said, I still have to try and roll my own patches. This is with FRFR (FBT monitors) on relatively low volumes. But hey, perhaps if you lay...

Axe's LCD display dims to the point of being unreadable.

I just got my Axe FX II yesterday and noticed that my LCD display is often changing brightness on its own: dimming and then restoring to normal every few seconds or so. I'd be interested to know what G66 says.

Value Knob Trouble

Almost the same here. It will change values clockwise, but I have to turn it like a mad man! :-) I hope they exchange yours with a better part and not with the same model, otherwise you might eventually end up with the same problems.

The new MATRIX GT800FX. THE amp for THE Axe-Fx

I had my first band rehearsal yesterday with the GT800FX and 2 FBT Verve 12M's and it sounded great! What I did notice was that I had to set the left and right volume knobs completely different to get an even sound, but IIRC I read that before and might more be an Axe Fx issue than a GT800FX...

I'm using the Axe (I) with a Verve 12M which sounds good. Since weight is important for me (every kilo/pound counts) I chose to have a separate amp and passive speakers. Haven't gigged with it yet though.

Btw, note that I didn't say the Matrix was bad or anything, just similar to the SLA-2. And I didn't think the SLA-2 was bad. I did have my global eq set so that the lows and highs are rolled off. Perhaps I should retest with a flat EQ. Meanwhile I upgraded to firmware v11 and didn't notice a lot...
