. . . well, once a tweaker, always a tweaker. (Im working on that), but for the most part, I find that I can control quite a range of gain or intensity with the output volume on the guitar along with the tone controls.

Jammed on 10.01 for a couple hours, dug the heck out of preset built out of 025, Friedman amp. Loaded Ares 1.0 beta, same preset and yes, crazy tone filled, dynamic touch sensitive inspiration, instantly renewed my plans of obtaining a III. Thanks again Cliff and all that made it possible.

results would be comb filtered, u can also do that with multiple delays mixed in mono. Brian May uses a phaser pedal for some interesting pre dist eq's. "many ways to skin a cat" (apology to animal rights)

Are there more delay lines hidden in the magic box?

I was a beta tester for the PCM80. It has only a few algorithms, but they are super comprehensive. My suggestion is digitally connect the PCM80 to the spdif outs and run it in parallel with the AxeFx into a basic line mixer or second input of a Atomic Clr if u have them. Makes me wish I still...

Anyone wish for a better looper?

It has been a while since I've done this but, possible to seemingly double looper/dly time, when playing against midi drums, by sending midi clk divided by 2 to looper or double midi clk sent to midi drums and then change tempo to 1/2 its rate. Time is relative.

"Hands-free" parameter editing?

That would be very cool. There are many CC type work arounds if your assign CC' s ahead of time. Some paramaters may requier Syx commands. None as easily implemented as would using the "big wheel" to conntroller idea. If possible .

AES input goes to AxeFx input, AES output comes from the output. The USB can be assigned. If you do what you said with AES in's and out's, it will result in feedback, I presume.

I'm not familiar with the FS-6, maybe the 3cond. tip/ ring/ sleeve interconnect/ plug from the pedal needs to be reconfigured. The wiring is available from Morningstar website. Also the pedal input on the MC6 has to be switched to pedal instead of switch. Hopefully this has helped.

I've got my Ultra up for sale, still love the sound of it. I still have my AxeFx mkll but now but after reading all the above, now I want an AX8, too. The AX8 has a great control layout, looks very intuitive.

I bought the Rams Head Muff and the Black Finger compressor, both new, around 1970. Still own them, but there both in storage. The original Black Finger compressor was transistor only, no tubes.

I have a rams head muff and a black finger compressor (not tube type) from the same era wired up comp into fuzz. The comp has a low cut tone control. I put a foot switch to be able to select all pass or full low cut on the compressor, giving me two pre eq's for the muff'. By cutting the pre lows...

Q, amplitude and freq are generally independent. eg. parametric eq variable controls. Q and bandwidth are terms that have been used as synonyms but actually are different.. I believe there is a diagram in our manual , listed under eq types

Join the club Anyway, better to use precision eq, perhaps parametric/low cut/high cut eq's, if even needed. Or was that high pass/low pass. Anyway v5.02 "Kicks ass"

yep of course. was referring to loosing highs with an IR plus guitar cab being compounded, with beaming from guitar cab, giving a muddy sound at higher volumes.

Can the Ultra Get close to the II??

I Own both , the crazy thing my main preset is from my Ultra. I still haven't done the "tone match" with my Axe2. Call me lazy, but I'm having too much fun.

What will you do when no more firmware updates?

I have read so many great responses from folks in the same position as me. I played my Ultra well past the intro of Axe 1 and 2. and still own my Ultra and an AxeFx 2, still use both, and still have just scratched the surface of possibilities. It is amazing, the over-all quality of AxeFx 2 /...
