    Laugh if you will, but I recommend Zoom Livetrak L-12 or L-20. Each of the 5 (on L-12) or 6 (on the L-20) headphone monitor outs can get independent mixes. The mic pres don't matter so much with line inputs, but use balanced cables for the inputs.

    no. The axe does have a usb midi connection, but it is for things like axe-edit. CS MIDI and MIDI block messages do not get sent to the USB midi port. You are using the USB midi port, not the hardware midi out 5 pin din port.
