Acoustic help needed badly

Hi Mattyi. I suggest you start with the simplest patch of just an eq and cabinet block and plug into the front input. Be sure your acoustic preamp is all the way up and then set your input gain on the the Axe using the I/O menu so it doesn't clip. Once this simple setup is working, you can...

Low volume after Update from 13 to 14.02

Read the release notes. You likely need to reset a Global setting that is described in there. Something to do with the Gate I believe......good luck!

Roland FC-300 midi foot controller issues at gig

I had a gig with my Axe-Fx II and Roland FC-300 foot controller. The foot controller wasn't working (not changing patches, or engaging effects), even though it did earlier in the day at home. I had the midi cables running on the floor near power cords, etc. so I'm wondering if there is a such...

Prospective Buyers Poll: Mark II or XL

When To Reset Blocks?

I must agree! this is a confusing aspect of firmware updates. I always do it just in case, but only on my 5-8 key presets. It would be nice to add an "auto update" feature into the firmware so this isn't necessary. I'm sure Cliff is well aware of this issue and has thought about it at...

Issues when using my ground control

sounds like the auto engage setting is on. this activates or turns off the pedal (wah in this case?) when the pedal is moved into specified trigger points. it is very useful in my opinion but not everyone may agree.....

loading a completely blank bank to start fresh

It used to be that preset 384 was a blank preset, but not sure in the latest release. Check it out. Also, there is some method I've seen when powering up the Axe-Fx II, and simultaneously holding a button down, brings up a blank preset. For my life, I can't find the details on this approach...

Thanks all. How about live sound? To avoid the issue of dialing in at bedroom levels and then trying to dial in live situations, I was thinking of mic'ing the Atomic. My thought was that I would keep the bedroom levels and the mic would allow FOH to pump sufficient volume to the PA. Thoughts?

updating firmware... just to be clear

another little trick is when new firmware is loaded, you can go to any patch, select the amp block, temporarily select another amp and go right back to your desired amp. This will automatically refresh that patch's settings for the amp to the new firmware. You need to save the patch to retain...

Gain Problem

Are you using headphones by chance? I had problems with sound dropping out and it turned out to be my headphone cable had a short in it. Through FRFR it was great.

Exactly. Single coil pickups aren't as hot as humbuckers so you turn up the input to near or at 100% typically. Active humbuckers require a low input signal to avoid input clipping.

Strange issue ..

I always thought that the MIDI sync was one-way with the Axe-FX II, unless you use Axe-Edit to "sync from hardware" or something like that? This has been brought up in other posts and has been requested as a future enhancement.

Amp / Pedal advice for new user?

per Fractal Audio support, here's there response "Sounds like the FC-300 is malfunctioning. We do filter the MIDI data. It's the same code from the old Axe-Fx. It has nothing to do with active sense." oh well, the issues continue.....thanks for your input
